Why is mental health as important as physical health?

My post was well within the topic, understood by people who have at least SOME intelligence.

There are many analogies that can be found between computers and living creatures.

Our brain is the CPU and memory,  our body is the hardware and electricity that brings a computer to life.

"Software free of bugs"  is  analogous to a mind in good health.  "Hardware free of glitches and crashes" is analogous  to good physical health.

Wow! You still take time and effort to explain. Kudos!

I sincerely hoped that the ministers will hear from the ground what is really happening. It not only about healthcare workers but employment as well. The below mentioned sounded like to good to be true but often it is not the case.

SUPPORTING VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES

1. LGBTQ community

Some lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people have described experiencing a “double stigma” where they fear facing discrimination for both their mental health status as well as their sexuality or gender identity, Ms Ong said. She added that research conducted by LGBTQ groups here have also reported that some LGBTQ individuals fear being discriminated by healthcare professionals.Ms Ong asked if the authorities would consider a whole-of-government approach in ensuring mental healthcare workers are competent in handling LGBTQ issues.Dr Khor said in a supplementary reply that all healthcare providers are trained to help people with mental health needs, regardless of sexuality and gender identity.

She added that in 2017, IMH opened the Gender Health Clinic to help persons experiencing emotional difficulties related to gender identity, and to provide psychiatric treatment and psychological counselling for those experiencing gender dysphoria, where they feel strongly that their gender does not match their biology.

So many IMH doctors are gays themselves it is ironic. Those gay IMH doctors are also ironically, staunch christians. Some are even pastors too - like a certain therapist who now practises in private. But there are other therapists who are gay christians who are also in denial of themselves. Married and christian doesn't mean they are straight. They may have "transgender clinic" doesn't mean those doctors are not in denial of gay and bisexual issues. Unprofessionalism and discrimination almost always stem from denial and fear (of themselves and 377A).

Some oppressed humans have adapted for survival with highly elaborate coverups and complicated protocols - mental gymnastics for the uninitiated. Some may even seem to thrive, but not without tons of irony.

The ability you mention is conducive to maintain mental health.  But is it sufficient to RECOVER mental health after it is lost to illness?

It seems that the well functioning of our mind is also related to biology, not only spirituality. The health of our neurons and all the nervous system.

In the case of computers, it is sometimes difficult to diagnose a failure to the software or the hardware.  With computers, the solution is to run the software on another machine, and if it runs well, the original problem is the hardware.  But with our bodies this is not possible to do.

I am not one now,  I am happily retired.

But when I was an IT expert, a hardware and software designer, I had to troubleshoot many non-consumer systems where you don't have large samples of a problem.
