Oh, No.

Here we go again, the wife of that one, is making the immoral argument again.

When will people wake up to their  lack of love

“It’s immoral!” – FCBC Senior Pastor Nina Khong denounces Lee Hsien Yang’s attendance at Pink Dot

yhib0.jpg

one of the senior pastors of Faith Community Baptist Church (FCBC), has criticised Lee Hsien Yang’s recent appearance at Pink Dot, with his family.

Mr Lee and his wife Lee Suet Fern accompanied their son and his husband to the 11th annual Pink Dot gathering, that was held last Saturday (29 June). Photos of the family’s appearance at the lesbian, gay, transgender and transsexual (LGBT) pride event quickly drew attention and went viral online.

Mr Lee’s presence at the event was notable for a number of reasons – first, because he is the son of Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and younger brother of current Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who recently said that Section 377A – a law that criminalises gay sex – will not be repealed in Singapore anytime soon.

Additionally, this was the first time Mr and Mrs Lee had attended such an event in Singapore.

As netizens widely shared photos of the Lees at Pink Dot on social media, Facebook user Tobey JC shared a link to an online article covering the Lees’ presence at Pink Dot to the Facebook group ‘We are Against Pink Dot in Singapore‘ – a network which encourages mostly anti-LGBT discussions.

He wrote that Lee Kuan Yew must be rolling in his grave since his son, daughter-in-law and grandson attended Pink Dot.

Netizens responding to Tobey JC’s post responded that Lee Hsien Loong has committed “political suicide” by attending the event since they will not give their support to someone who supports Pink Dot, in the event that Mr Lee chooses to contest the next election.

In the midst of the furore, Rev Nina Khong expressed her dissatisfaction with Mr Lee. She wrote: “What’s immoral remains immoral. Doesn’t matter who did it!”

In a separate comment, she added: “Walter E. Williams rightly said, “How does something immoral, when done privately, become moral when it is done collectively?

“Furthermore, does legality establish morality? Slavery was legal; apartheid is legal; Stalinist, Nazi, and Maoist purges were legal. Clearly, the fact of legality does not justify these crimes. Legality, alone, cannot be the talisman of moral people.””

Rev Nina Khong is the wife of Apostle Lawrence Khong, the founder and senior pastor of FCBC. Apostle Khong is one of the more prominent faces of the ‘Wear White Campaign’, a movement that was set-up to counter the Pink Dot movement (a movement for societal acceptance of LGBT and their families).

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was Rev and Apostle Khong’s classmate in National Junior College. Apostle Khong had said in an interview that all 3 “would hang out together”.

The Khongs have repeatedly affirmed their friendship with PM Lee. In 2016, Apostle Khong wrote online that he was praying for his former classmate when PM Lee suffered a brief fainting spell during the National Day Rally speech:

A year before that, Apostle Khong helped to organise the Jubilee Day of Prayer, which saw 51,000 Christians gathering to pray at the Sports Hub. PM Lee was the guest-of-honour at the event, which preceded the 2015 General Election by just two months.

According to City News“The highlight of the event for many was the arrival of Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Hsien Loong. The stadium erupted in deafening cheers of welcome and waving of Singapore flags when he and his wife, Ms Ho Ching, were announced. Mr Lee gamely took a photo of the crowd with his phone when he reached the stage.”

After a speech, in which PM Lee “showed off his knowledge” of the significance of the Jubilee to Christians, City News reports that “everyone rose to their feet and sang Aaronic Benediction (Misha Goetz) in English as a blessing upon the prime minister. This was followed by the recitation of the National Pledge.”

While PM Lee and the Khongs remain good friends, Lee Hsien Yang remains entangled in a bitter family feud with his brother. In 2017, the younger Mr Lee and his sister Lee Wei Ling publicly accused their elder brother of using organs of the state against them in 2017.

The younger siblings accused PM Lee of abusing his power to preserve their family home against their father’s willed desire to demolish the house, in order to bolster his grip on power, and claimed that the Government convened a secret committee to make a decision on the house.

PM Lee addressed the allegations against him in a Parliamentary debate where he declared that he has been cleared of all charges. Dr Lee Wei Ling and Mr Lee Hsien Yang reinforced their allegations but offered a ceasefire in favour of settling the matter in private, so long as they nor their father’s will be misrepresented or attacked.

Instead of improving in the months that followed, the siblings’ relationship with PM Lee seemed to become even more fractured when the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) initiated legal action against Mr Lee Hsien Yang’s son over a private Facebook post before filing a complaint against Mr Lee’s wife to the Law Society over Lee Kuan Yew’s will.-/TISG

Ask the Khongs nicely to hand over their daughter who first came out of the closet as a lesbian turns bisexual & ending having a single daughter out of wedlock. tied her to the wooden pole & sacrifice her.

And i shall quote.. "Let he who have no sin cast the first stone"

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone

According to the Gospel of John,

the Pharisees, in an attempt to discredit Jesus, brought a woman charged with adultery before him. Then they reminded Jesus that adultery was punishable by stoning under Mosaic law and challenged him to judge the woman so that they might then accuse him of disobeying the law. Jesus thought for a moment and then replied, “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.” The people crowded around him were so touched by their own consciences that they departed. When Jesus found himself alone with the woman, he asked her who were her accusers. She replied, “No man, lord.” Jesus then said, “Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more.”

This is the eternal Grace of Jesus & our God who loves us so much!! He forgives all our sins. He accepts everyone whether sinner or saint.

Their ideology is just as twisted as everyone's else. At the end of the day, who are they to judge? They are also humans, they don't speak on behalf of their God.

You are right, but their ideology is not "just as" but much, much more twisted than that of non religious people.

And they think that they speak on behalf of their God,  but all they know about him is hearsay. A story from Moses in the days they needed as many offspring as possible. Jesus, the Christian God, never said a single word against homosexuals.

They rejected their rational mind when they embraced religious brain washing.  How can they unfairly punish real human beings based on the history of a divinity that has high probability to have been a fantasy?

Lots of others immoral stuffs happening all around us. Why not say something about them.  Only knows how to target the LGBTQIs because we are voiceless, lack power and no political support?  Only knows how to target the weak to make themselves looks like they are doing something.  They should take the government on, on legal abortion, contraception, adultery, prostitution and gambling etc first. Hiding behind imaginative invisible super being to afford own self power and authority is mental illness and a lair.

Unfortunately we have no control over the thousands who fall prey to religious organizations like FCBC.   Hopefully as they gain experience these people realize the reality of these impostors and leave them alone.  Churches need their sheep to exist, and when these suckers become smart they leave. This is the fair way to bring justice to churches.

When we get old and retire we start to see how widespread deception is.  Politicians lie, advertisements lie, sales people lie, and... religious professionals lie.

Maybe humans deceiving each other is a law of survival among humans like some animals have to eat each other to survive?

I am just unhappy that these preachers are selective about targetting certain quarters of society about morality,

There are so many other things that are outright immoral, then vaguely immoral, then comes questionable , then comes inscrutable immorality,

It comes in shades of black , then dark grey , then light grey, then transparent.

The way , they phrase it, its as though its a black and white clarity issue.

We should not fall for their falacious arguments, its not a true black and white issue.

Its disingenious for people like them to harp on one immorality issue then keep church mouse silent on other blatant in your face immorality,

Whenever ppl confront them about contradictions about old and new testament teachings, they will use the shades of grey argument.

The fact is they cannot counter the argument of the individuals right to love and care for someone they fancy, which is inline with their teachings, they have no ammunitions to tear down the right to love.

So they keep harping on morality, morality, morality.

I believe everyone when they grow from late teens to adulthood and all through our lives till death,

We are always confronted with the gut wrenching struggles that morality in real life is always shifting , changing and relative.

Morality 's goal post is always changing.

BUDDHA 's  supreme teaching is phenomena is impermanent. Impermanance is ultimate truth.

Homosexuality is only immoral to Nina because her own husband has such tendencies.

Stop trying to preach hate when it is you AND YOUR HUSBAND who cannot accept his own natural but unwanted sexual orientation because of your religion.

Nina, why so much hate? Why, are you lesbian too? Lol

The reason why these fundies are twisted in their knickers and having constipation but can still spout verbal diarrhea is that its husband and husband marriage, and for lesbians its a wife and wife marriage, this one they buay tarhan,

They want it to be I pronounce you husband and wife, but now its husband and husband, wife and wife, groom and groom and bride and bride.

Hence , they have verbal diarrhea , spouting its immoral, immoral , immoral........

We are agitated because their message is one of hate and destruction. We have seen what messages like these can do to groups of people, i.e. the Jews during WWII, the Armenians under the Ottanmans, in Asia, we have the Koreans and Chinese under the Japanese etc. The problem with hate speech is that when they go unchecked, overtime, it becomes normal and accepted. The message they are sending is not building a society, or uplifting people/communities. It is about destroying a group of people in the name of their religious belief. It is about saying that being LGBT makes you not a person, but a criminal.

The fact that you can post on this forum, albeit anonymously, is because at some point in the past, someone fought for your right to be educated, to have the freedom to make your own basic decisions,  to have access to clean water and air... we have those things because someone bothered when others put us down.

Love.

An open letter to Rev Nina Khong:

Hi,

I am never one who likes to speak his mind so openly, but unfortunately, I have come to the conviction that I cannot just ‘sit back and relax.’

Recently, you had made a comment that ‘what is immoral remains immoral.’ Now, I would like to ask you, what is immoral about a parent attending an event to support their gay son? What is immoral about a person getting married with the love of his life?

From your perspective, you can claim that these are immoral. However, such thinking may only be effective to you when you have such a superficial reality of things. As one of the prominent leaders of your congregation, you should be influencing love and compassion, some of which are values that the bible teaches. The hypocrisy of you being an influential leader yet using that power to influence hate onto others appals me. People really need to stop using religion or social ethics as a mask to voice their prejudice.

Your quote from Walter E. Williams was taken out of context. If you had the time to read his full article (https://www.creators.com/read/walter-williams/06/12/immoral-beyond-redemption
) - in which the topic wasn’t even about family values - he did bring up a valid question on “whether it's right to take what belongs to one person to give to another to whom it does not belong.” This is a good segue to my next question. Why are you taking away this special and important moment for a loving family? It really baffles me because this love doesn’t belong to you.

Freedom to love is a fundamental human right and a personal choice. If a parent wants to support their child, then they get to do it because it is their right.

Often our opinions of others are a true reflection of who we are and how we feel about ourselves. Discrimination and hate frays the human spirit! The capacity to love or hate is an innate choice that we can manage. Your opinions are overly excessive that it has become more of hate speech rather than free speech. I do hope that you and your family can find some peace and love within yourselves.

Best Regards,
Jerome Alexander Chan

PS: In future before you say something nasty, just remember this quote from Ellen DeGeneres, “be kind to one another”

Well, gays hating themselves is one thing. They need to seek therapy or go figure it out what is the cause of this self-hatred? Loving oneself (not in the narcissistic sense) means accepting all that you are. The good and the bad. It is recognizing that you are not perfect, and that is ok because you are working towards being the best version of you that you can be.

We cannot control how others think or feel. That is their basic right, to choose. There is the choice to spread love or incite hate. It is a choice. We cannot stop Nina Khong from making hateful statements, but we can stop her statements from being accepted as OK.

Love.

Nobody is bothered by what those religious people think.   To begin with,  what they think is invisible to us.  We should be perfectly fine with them thinking that gays will rot in hell.

What is not fine at all is that they are out to convince others that gays should rot in hell.

Isn't this slander, libel?  Yes, it is.

It is slander, libel because they make false statements that are defamatory character assassinations of homosexuals.

Are their statements false?  Yes, they are.

They characterize as a fact, a reality something that is nothing but speculation.  Religious dogmas are nothing but that.

They have absolutely no proof that any divinity is against gays.

And we should go further.  If there is a civil, legal way, we should stop them from making slanderous, libelous statements against homosexuals.

I cannot wait for a time when courts will prohibit religious organizations from making slanderous statements in the name of their God unless they can present their God as witness to corroborate what they say.

This is the first I hear about this Myanmar gay hating monk.  What a venerable, holy monk!  :o  What kind of karma is he accumulating?

Er... where is the condemnation, outcry of the most prestigious Buddhist organizations in the world against this abominable guy who dresses as a monk?  Why isn't world-wide Buddhism condemning the lack of "Enlightenment" of Myanmar monks?   This country has the highest density of Buddhist monks in the world and they are the most militant,  fighting against Muslims.

Where is the condemnation by the most prestigious Islamic organizations of the Islamic terrorists who claim they kill in the name of Allah?

Why are religious organizations in cahoots with their own believers and only bash homosexuals and believers in other religions?

Coz regardless or religion, it is human nature

Myanmar monk has been quite involved in politics, as compared to other buddhist nations.  They are the odd balls.
