Anyone here loves kaya?

Where to buy less sugar delicious kaya ?

Cant find one brand in supermarket that is really nice n all are so sweet.

Even the less sugar also taste very sweet. Thanks

Haha.. If the kaya has less sugar, it can't stay on the store shelf for long.  The eggs would spoil easily in the tropical heat wor.

You can make your own!

would add more preservatives help to store it longer (if not keep in fridge too)?

which is while, fridging them is best (last SO much longer) and wont attract ants too
Yummy to have it cold if u like such kaya

by the way, culinary wise, the natural preservatives would include rosemary and oregano extract, hops, salt, sugar, vinegar, alcohol, diatomaceous earth and castor oil

  • 1 month later...

After one big round of talking about preservatives still no answer to where to BUY

So far, off the shelf brands I have tried. I think Fong Yit is one of the better ones. They have less sweet option which my parents dislike. They some how prefer the brand Glory. Giant house brand avoid at all cost. Ya Kun is nice but too small bottle and ex. I think it was like $5 or something. There are some small bakeries who make their own too.
