Fiacla
How old is your PC? Common cause is the battery has gone flat. Normally the motherboard uses CR2032 battery. Edited July 23, 2020 by Fiacla

Fiacla
U try replace the battery. It's cheap and easy to replace. Recently I bought the same battery for my car remote. It cost only $5+ from Fairprice. 2 batteries in a pack.

kidster
Heard too many negative reviews of Acer. Fujitsu laptop is good but expensive. Although it can last but the specs will be obsolete by then. Can't catch up with the software. My last Fujitsu laptop lasted me for 8 years. Dell XPS series is the most recommended. I have Macbook Air (used) and Macbook Pro 15" (brand new) for sale btw. Both are 2014 models that come with MagSafe socket. Can't find them anywhere anymore. SazNura
2019 still have warranty, bring it down to acer for repair. opening the case can void your warranty. Doing dekstop support here. If acer decide to charge you, believe even after warranty acer charge you bare minimum. Not all acer mainboard are easy to access , suitably discharged and unplug the pc before diy change cmos battery. awvis

Guest WannaKNOW
My sis gave me a very old deskstop, Intel Pentium core II dual CPU. It's still workable, but, very slow bootup. Ram only 4gb ddr2. I tried to replace the 4gb ram to 8gb, but, the ram chips seemed not compatible with the pc, is there a way to speed up this old computer. Thanks. I think he is doing that as he has some not safe for work stuff in his notebook. He is not trying to 'support' his own. Quote ** Comments are my opinions, same as yours. upshot
If for so long now, and this person has not gotten his batteries change himself... I think he is not looking fort an IT expert as per say. He is looking for someone who has experience to open up a MORE than complicated NOTEBOOK.... not a PC which is very easy to open the cover of the PC and look at the motherboard to find the battery to replace. This is something anyone with a notebook and not IT savvy wit hardware troubleshooting and you have GAY STUFF like PORN on their notebook and are at the mercy of having to send it into someone to repair them. I hope he has already solved this but MOVING FORWARD.. for your sake people.. USE A EXTERNAL HDD FOR ALL YOUR SEXUAL AND SENSITIVE CONTENT THAT IS NOT SAFE FOR WORK. Your external HDD is easy to back up and kept separate for a small investment and your FACE. If your notebook fail you only need to send in the notebook or even PC and leave your pron out of the picture. Quote ** Comments are my opinions, same as yours. It's not a 'Be-All-and-End-All' view. IF you STORE ALL YOUR STUFF in the same HDD as your Windows OS, it has a software protection that prevent you from taking the HDD out to attached to another PC to access it. It likley will prompt you about authorization. You can FORMAT it but not read it. Professional will have the means to do this. I don't in a way. Not that I am sure what I know can do it also. SO... you do not want to get caught with porn or blackmail by the tech shop.. destroy it and forget it for most layman with little IT know-how. Seriously man... 2020 WHY EVEN STORE AND KEEP OLD PORN? heheheheh so many new ons every day. FRESH ASS AND DICKS. I stop keeping my old porn in 2000 and never look back. I am not some die hard fan of porn star man. heheh As for my own personal action one, I just make NEW ONES and store them in my hidden google photo library and not set to share. EVEN THEN I sometime worry if google might try to peep. You know what I ask this? TUMBLR does that without telling me... once bitten twice shy. Being NOSTALGIC with porn is strange heheh Edited October 8, 2020 by upshot Quote ** Comments are my opinions, same as yours. It's not a 'Be-All-and-End-All' view. Since Windows 7 or earlier version, HDD are given during installation some encrypted boot protection and identification. This was Windows way for security and also for you to know install your windows OC to use on another PC. UNLESS you buy a retail windows OS software, your OEM version only let you use this windows that come with your notebook for ITSELF ONLY. So if you take out the HDD and put into another PC to try to read it, it will refuse to let you do that. Only special software and technical who know what to do can pass thru that security. Sorry I do not think handsome face is good enough reason to keep. I see thousands upon thousands of videos of so call handsome face heheh... I see no reason to collect when I can get them so often and also I pay money to get into sites to see the same video again if I want to so.. I do not have to keep any on my PCs. heh.. And last thing I want is to get into a situation of another PC contain porn and if found out... get myself in hot soup. I can tell you roughly how people go about it but I do not know who you are enough to get myself with something that is a contraband in Singapore heh Straight up being frank with you man. minichub
A rule of the thumb, technicians usually dun expose what our customers have. We know our customers deep dark secrets thru their computers, that doesn't mean we will use it. Of cos, there are some black sheeps and unless u are so famous that ur data is worth something
