The government has announced the third stage of the easing of the business and activity lockdown, effective from Monday.

It allows restricted activities at schools, theatres, beauty parlours, fitness clubs, sports fields, recreational ponds, ballroom dancing venues, convention halls and zoos.

The curfew is also shortened to 11pm to 3am from June 1.

Gen Somsak Roongsita, secretary-general of the National Security Council, said on Friday that school buildings can reopen for admission examinations and short training sessions, but not for normal classes. Private tuition schools for vocational training, arts and sports can resume.

Malls could remain open until 9pm. Exhibition and convention venues could also open until 9pm, but activity space at each would be limited to 20,000 square metres.

not sure @thickhead79 got this wording or if it is his own (to make it clear and understandable), but the official announcement of course doe not speak of "sex massage parlours". However, it does explicitly excludes อาบอบนวด parlours (aab ob nuad or "bathe bake massage") from the re-opening. Those are straight girlie massage parlours where the girls, uhm well, help the customer bathe and give him a massage. Of course, everyone knows what they are, i.e. sex massage parlours as per thickhead's wording. But for all that aren't labeled as aab ob nuad (those have actually signs outside advertising themselves as such), it seems rather easy to me to just claim to be a health massage parlour, and indeed be common practice already, regardless of Covid and all....

it all depend both side country open border for each other or not

And also on fwhat quarantine regulations remain once borders are open. Who wants to travel anywhere if you first have to wait for 14 days in quarantine? I will bet that once Thailand airports are open to international travellers - possibly July 1, but that's a guess - travellers from badly hit countries like the USA, the UK and Brazil will have a really hard time entering. There is also talk that travellers may require to show proof of medical insurance that will cover them in the event they suffer from the covid19 virus whilst in Thailand.

Bangkok’s governor this morning said 16 business types must remain closed until June 30 to control COVID-19 infections in the capital.
Gov. Aswin Kwanmuang issued an order that requires 16 places including bars, gaming cafes, playgrounds and boxing stadiums to remain shuttered until June 30 or until “further notice.”
Issued under the Emergency Decree, which has been extended until July 1, anyone who violates the order faces up to a year in prison and THB100,000 fine. Venue operators could also face permanent closure.

I have had a travel insurance policy for the last six years. I assumed it would cover costs incurred as a result of covid19. Not so. The wording specifically excludes pandemics. Since that wording was written at least 6 years ago, I wonder how many recent policies will actually cover covid19 hospitalisation costs. Getting in to Thailand is not going to be easy in the short run!

In an apparent effort to quell rumours and undue optimism, PM Prayut Chan-o-cha is downplaying the notion that international tourists will be allowed to return to Thailand in July. The government had set a tentative deadline of 1 July for lifting all restrictions put in place under the Emergency Decree to combat the spread of Covid-19. Last week it was reported the lifting of restrictions would mean that international arrivals would resume from July 1.

But yesterday the Thai PM said Thailand still has a long way to go in its fight against the virus before international tourists can be allowed to return. He added that the issue hasn’t yet been even discussed by the Cabinet, and that only tourists from certain countries may be allowed to visit Thailand, namely those where the outbreak is deemed to be under control.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has instructed the Ministry of Tourism & Sports to prepare for “travel bubble” negotiations as they aim to reopen overseas travelling to selected countries within the second half of 2020.

Tourism minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said on Thursday that the PM asked his ministry to prepare for bilateral agreements on travelling between the kingdom and countries considered by the Thai government to have a low risk of infections from the coronavirus.

“The PM is very interested and he has personally instructed us to prepare for negotiations… with many other countries,” he said.

“This can be done immediately in order to be fully ready when the outbreak situation improves and many countries begin to open up again,” he said. “The passengers must not be infected with the virus but they will not be under quarantine for 14 days.”

Thailand’s government will end most internal lockdown measures on July 1 if a second wave of infection does not occur in June, sources in both the Prime Minister’s Office and the cabinet told Thai Enquirer on Friday.

Thailand is currently on phase three of its lockdown easing plans with most businesses allowed to resume operations with certain caveats including the mandatory use of face masks and temperature checkpoints.

Now, sources tell Thai Enquirer, that all internal lockdown measures will be lifted on businesses and travel inside the country can resume as normal provided there are no new infections.

“The face masks and temperature checks will be in place for a while but we’re ready to lift the lockdown and resume normal operations,” said a senior source in the PMO. “Economic recovery is going to be key for us until the end of the year and the sooner we get there the better.”

The sources said that though the government was prepared to halt incoming travel from abroad for the time being, restrictions on business travellers and permanent residences will also be lifted by July.

The government on Sunday reported eight new coronavirus cases and no new deaths, taking the accumulated totals in Thailand to 3,112 infections and 58 deaths since the outbreak began in January.
The new cases were returnees - five from the United Arab Emirates, two from Kuwait and one from India - and were in quarantine, where most of Thailand's recent cases have been detected, said Panprapa Yongtrakul, an assistant spokeswoman for the government's Covid-19 Administration Centre.
Thailand has recorded zero new deaths for 13 days in a row, she said.

The government is considering easing entry restrictions for foreign visitors possibly in the third or final quarter of this year, with priority given to those arriving from coronavirus-free areas, says Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak.

He said relaxing inbound travel restrictions is the first step in kickstarting the tourism industry, but the government has to be prudent in screening travellers and implementing an efficient tracking system to reduce the risk of a second wave of infections.

Mr Somkid said visitors from countries or areas where Covid-19 outbreaks have been contained are likely to be the first to get the green light and that he has already raised the issue with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

“It doesn’t have to be an entire country — we can allow visitors from towns or provinces which are free from the coronavirus. Travel restrictions will be gradually eased and foreign visitors are expected to return in the third or fourth quarter of this year,” he said.

The third quarter of the year starts next month.
