Recommended Posts

Hello, want to ask if there's any cheap and affordable treatments to remove acne scars :x Been trying out cream bought online that's suppose to heal the scars but isn't really seeing much results. So hopefully someone here who have faced this issue in the past can give me some help and advice thanks!

Hihi.

Some of the cream do work. However i think it would work on very small or non-deep scars.

If your scars are very red or inflamed, i suggest, look into your diet. I was facing some mild acne scars growing up also. In my early 30s now and naturally it got better :)

Some of the creams will take time to see results. Maybe months or years, it depends because everyone’s skin is different.

My no. 1 beauty secret - don’t touch your face :)

Remember to hydrate with plain water, avoid sugary food/drinks & caffeinated drinks. Make sure your diet consist of fruits and veges and avoid oily/fried food at all cause! hehe

Rmb to apply sunscreen when gg out. The sun rays actually makes the dark spots go darker.

Think you go and consult a dermatologist first. If not an affordable one, just proceed to your local polyclinic first before they refer you to any skin specialist (i.e national skin centre) if they feel that your acne is serious.

Hope this helps :)

@Kris13I use the Hiruscar gel after the acne is gone. It helps to lighten the area for me. Use it after i rch home from work.

When there is an acne, dun touch it. it will go away by itself :) use acne patch to cover it when sleeping or outside so our dirty hands will not have any contact with it.

Agree - never touch or squeeze the acne. Let it dry up and scarring will be minimal. Use physical sunscreen to absorb the excess sebum.

if you are not a fan of acne patch (like me), you may want to consider drying lotion (from Etude House/ Mario Badescu). Tea tree oil is another good option. These works for me and helps to dry up the acne overnight.

For scarring, you can opt for serums with Niacinamide. The serums from The Ordinary are quite effective and value for money. Snail cream/ aloe gel helps to reduce scarring and inflammation.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestion, I'll probably try out some of the cheaper alternative mentioned :D
