Somewhere something must be going wrong. SG recorded first covid death in Mar 2020 and for the next 16 months, a total of 37 death or average of 2.3 death per month but now in Aug and with 1 more week before the month end, already 15 death. That is a 552% increase in monthly death rate. Haven't open up already so jialat, open up 还得了.

Someone already said there is a jinx in the ministry. You still don't know who??? That guy super super jinx one. His jinx power took out a full-fledged Minister with him when he first ran for election, OK? Don't play play. Go pray pray.

Luckily, in reddot, all churches kuai kuai tell everyone to wear mask.

In the west , personal liberty and freedom to do what one pleases reign supreme. They expect the sun and moon to revolve around them.

Precisely,  vaccinated only 50 over percent dare to open up without mask. That's why there is no way to compare SG with European and US for this covid drama. SEA and Africa countries either poor or more interested in political power struggle, the only two countries we can compare is Taiwan and HKG due to our cultural similarities and experience in handling SARS.

How can Australia and Newzeland with only 23 and 24 percent vaccination rate? Even Japan and South Korea are all below 40% despite securing vaccines at an early stage.

The end result of this "hackcare" attitude is a more tricky variant that can escape all kind of vaccines, then everything go back to day one when this covid drama started.

You are right, that person super jinx. This time reopen up, BHG cluster formed and dormitory cluster formed. And death rates shoot up suddenly. They better don't relax more measures so fast.

It is sad to see the arrogance of people that leads to their demise...

It is not a matter of FREEDOM.   All these fools who are so proud of their freedom are also free to throw themselves down from the roof of a high rise, to put a gun to their heads and put a hole in them, to walk into the ocean and let the water cover them.

It is a matter of INFORMATION and sufficient education to know who to trust.  Like this woman who calls the vaccine unproven, untested, and people still getting sick afterwards.  Where did she hear that?   And she never heard Dr. Fauci and the CDC claim that the vaccine is highly effective and safe?  Hasn't she heard that presidents, congress members, important people all got vaccinated?  She thinks that these are a bunch of idiots?

Facts seem to keep confirming Darwin's "survival of the fittest"!

I think and highly suggest that all government should apply thr Collatz Conjecture to minimize the Covid19 cases to 1. It has been proven mathematically, it can be applied in real scenario.

Not for tiny nation like SG which cannot live without other countries. It doesn't matter if our daily cases hit 1000 as long as the ICU is not overcrowded and resources not stretch to the maximum.

Open up to Germany is as good as open up to the whole of Europe as there are no border control among the European countries. Someone can just arrive in Germany and take a train to tour the whole europe before going back to Germany to catch their flight back and the passport will just show Germany.

Likewise those working here can also go back to whichever european country they came from by flying via Germany and taking connecting train for the rest of their journey.

With the rise of the COVID cases, government does not or no longer seem so worried ... no more tightening measures.

Does this mean that we can also bo-chap or don't worry so much? 🙄

Can don't worry so much but cannot bo-chap. Govt can do whatever they want and always got a "very nice" reason (or excuse)  behind it

Omg.....I think this is how surrendering on behalf of all Singaporeans feels like for us right now.

On Friday, Minister Ong Ye Kung shared that we have entered a different stage of the battle. With a high vaccination rate of more than 80%, we can start to live with COVID-19, and transition to a COVID-19 resilient nation.

It is now timely to revamp our daily reports, which should reflect the salient issues in this new phase. For e.g. with our high vaccination rate plateauing, there is no need for a detailed daily report on our vaccination progress.

We will also no longer chase every single case; thus, unlinked numbers may not be as relevant. However, we will continue to release more information on active and emerging clusters.

It had been a disaster since day one and now in layman terms:

* if u not vaccinated because u r stubborn,  too bad can't help u.

* if u can't take MRNA vaccine, go for the China one.

* if u can't take china one,  stay at home don't come out.

* if u vaccinated and still kena,  too bad u r simply suay.

*if vaccinated and still hospitalise, sorry is your fate.

Conclusion: none of our business as long as we still enjoying million dollar pay happily. So ya,  let's all live happily with covid.

It's just plain stupid to think that everything will be OK simply because a large number of the population has been vaccinated, especially when the virus is still evolving and the vaccines developed so far is only effective against the earlier variants and, at best, minimize the virulence of the new variants.

Is it a sign of government giving up the fighting battle against delta, mu ... variants?

Can't imagine if the cases rise up to 300 - 500? Still treat it as normal cold / flu?

You may be thinking of pre-Covid EU, it is not quite borderless nowadays.

I think the rules state that you need to be in Germany for 21 days before departure to Sg.

If you want to make false declaration....

Isn’t it getting absurd? All these f*cking garbage measures and they can’t even address high possibility of public transport spread, choosing to only answer what they want and closing eyes on what they can’t answer.

Govt to ban social gatherings & interactions at workplaces from Sep. 8, 2021

MOH to send Health Risk Warnings to Covid-19 cluster cases, required by law to self-isolate & take PCR test

What are the COVID entry rules for travelers to European countries?

30.08.2021

"The hospitality sector in Europe is breathing a sigh of relief. Many countries have eased restrictions on everday life, making tourism possible again. DW Travel offers a brief recap of what rules apply in the EU."

"Summer, sun, surf, sandy beaches, and lots of culture: vacationing in Europe is once again a possibility for many — but only cautiously so.

Across Europe, many countries have lifted lockdowns and eased travel and entry requirements. But as pandemic regulations are being relaxed in some countries, others are tightening their entry rules again because of the surge of the delta variant and rise in case numbers. The situation in each country can change from one day to the next, which requires a great deal offlexibility from tourists and tour operators, hotels and restaurateurs in the summer of 2021.

Tourists from Israel, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, among others, can already travel to many European countries."

Not sure should be happy that SG is on the list but is amazing that here not more than 5 pax can gather but we are allowing people to go Europe, mask free, night entertainment, watch soccer match with lots of shouting and screaming, attending all kind of events with huge crowd gathering, another nice one, oh just don't show off on social media with a London bridge or Eiffel Tower.

Definitely,  the focus is no longer on how many case of infection but how many need to be hospitalised or admit into ICU.

Precisely, I read that next month Germany will no longer do mass free testing.

Resources will go to helping the people that are sick.

You think too lightly. After the virus has gotten enough human subjects to test and evolve, it is just a matter of time that a more deadly version will come into the reality. Even as we post this, the new variants from Colombia and South Africa has already been noticed, and there has been no sign of it stopping. We came up with a vaccine to counter the first variant, and the Indian variant already came up. The virus has always been multiple steps ahead of us. This vaccination only suppresses the symptoms which allows the virus to use our body as their own petri dish to grow and evolve further. What we are going through is nothing more than just the eye of the storm. If we take this time to sit back, rest and relax, we will only be in for a rude shock when the nastier variant comes into the picture. Our community testing done by the government should be heightened during this period of time. But instead, they want to hide the numbers and step down on the active resistance of the spread.

What do they usually do when they fail miserably? They hide the facts. How much did the government lost in Suzhou Technology Park? How much did Temasek lost in Lehman Brothers crisis? How much real benefit did CECA bring to Singaporeans?  Don't want people to know, then hide the figures and the facts. What people don't know, they cannot contest. If they contest, they will be sued for slander.

Transparency has never being part of their principles. And Singaporeans have been led by their noses all their life with mere empty words and promises.

Then what do you want? Another round of circuit breaker???

They want to live with virus, so why would they want to tighten measures? Here we comes 1000 daily cases soon.
