Guest Guest
It is true that office job salary must be lower than engineering job salary? Example executive vs engineer.

When i earn $30k in a year, i envy those who earn $50k, thinking that i can save $20k a year. But when i ever make $30k in a month, my credit card bill is even higher. Now, i have zero credit card. Now its pandemic, so have to struggle to work even harder. hahaha. In short, have many regrets in my actions in the past.

Cannot be if a person salary is $20k a month, he will stay in a 3 room hdb flat and drives a cheap car. Likely he will stay in a private house and drives a conti brand car. For example, when you get your salary each month quickly transfer away some to another bank account. Then when you accumulate enough, should invest in low risk blue chip stocks or just buy property as investment. Depends on each individual risk appetite. Will be good if can put aside up to 50% of your monthly salary into savings, housing and investments. mate69

Guest Manchester
with 3.5 million dollars can retire v comfortably liao. 0.5 million keep in high interest savings account as emergency funds. Use 2 million to buy dividend stocks (4% yield per annum)= $80000 per year Use 1 million to buy condo n rent out at $2000 a month= $24000 per year Passive income from dividend stocks n rental = $104000 per year Living expenses= $6000 per month (taking into account future inflation) Yearly expenses= $72000 per year $104000-$72000= $32000. Still can earn $32000 per year by doing nothing. This $32000 can still put into S&p500 grow 10% per annum. problem is how to get 3.5million? My calculations wrong anywhere? Steve5380
I earn nothing, '0', zero, zilch, nada! Being retired, all my income comes from pensions and investment income. I LOVE IT! I cannot get enough money! ( this is a falsity, I cannot even spend all my pension income due to my enjoyment of frugality...)
