They pick and choose verses, sidestepping contradictions and practice double standards.

Just be aware their arguments are not water tight and not iron clad.

Shellfish includes shrimps, prawns, lobsters , crabs , clams, razor clams, geoduck , oysters, lala, see hum, and are supposedly prohibited.

The next time, you see then eating at hawker center, go Tsk , Tsk , Tsk , Tsk ,

LOL!

But arguing with religious people may not be very productive.  It's the same as arguing with the anti-vaccine dummies.

It may be more effective to seek change at the voting booth.  Electing officials which will abolish sodomy laws, eliminate 377A (in SG), legitimize same-sex marriage. This is working in today's world in a positive direction.

Sometimes,  Religion and Anti-health-precautions join forces.  (it seems that health care is not a religious thing?)

Well , let us all relive the moment when one woman bravely but her convictions before her job she receives payment from tax money to do her job.

Imagine if these two turkeys decide to deny you medical life saving help because of their believes,  it can happen, one fine day,  you need medical help and they refuse to call you an ambulance because of their higher calling.

Just incredible.

But she was anti-gay.

As a public officer she can't afford to be anti-gay and put here belief in front of public rules.

This will only cause arbitrary rulings if everyone in a public office would behave the same in prioritising personal views or beliefs to State acts.

A public officer must remain neutral and separate religious beliefs from acting in office.

Nobody forced here to become a public officer. She can work in a religious school or a bible center if she thinks that religion is more important to her.

What she did was abuse of position to bring her personal religious beliefs to the fore (while herself she is a hypocrite).

Kimberly Jean Davis (née Bailey; born September 17, 1965) is a former county clerk for Rowan County, Kentucky, who gained international attention in August 2015 when she defied a U.S. federal court order to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Many legal experts asserted that Davis had no standing under the law to refuse to issue the licenses. Columbia Law School professor Katherine Franke said, "Kim Davis has all sorts of religious liberty rights secured under the First Amendment and under other laws, but they are not at stake in this case. All she's asked to do with couples that come before her is certify that they've met the state requirements for marriage, so her religious opposition to same-sex marriage is absolutely irrelevant."[103] Professor Stephen Vladeck of American University's Washington College of Law said that Davis "waived any right to have an objection to issuing same-sex marriage licenses when she ran for the job"The Human Rights Campaign, a national LGBT civil rights group, said, "Ms. Davis has the fundamental right to believe what she likes ... but as a public servant, she does not have the right to pick and choose which laws she will follow or which services she will provide."[50] Attorney and author Roberta A. Kaplan, who argued for the plaintiffs in United States v. Windsor, wrote that "Kim Davis is the clearest example of someone who wants to use a religious liberty argument to discriminate, yet she swore an oath to uphold the Constitution. It is laughable that she can then decide which laws to enforce, which is why every decision in her case has gone against her."[5]

And this on her personal life:

Davis has been married four times to three husbands.[19][193] The first three marriages ended in divorce in 1994, 2006, and 2008. Davis has two daughters from her first marriage and twins, a son and another daughter, who were born five months after her divorce from her first husband.[citation needed] Her third husband is the biological father of the twins, the children being conceived while Davis was still married to her first husband.

Lucky that she was defeated in her re-election bid for the county-clerk position.
