I think that one of the most valuable resources on the Internet, after Google search,  is YouTube.

It has thousands of videos about hundreds of topics.  There is information about everything.  When I have to repair something,  my first move is to look it up on YouTube.  This is how I found the other day how to change the fuel pump and regulator of my 28 year old car.  From its images I found out exactly how to do it.   All my favorite music is there.  Also I learn from there how to exercise, what to eat.  I learn about history,  about weapons of war,  ships, airplanes, and countless videos about mechanics.  I even learned how to break a padlock, ha ha.

There has never been anything greater than YouTube to entertain seniors,  who have the time to watch all that stuff.  If you use it often, I would recommend subscribing to their Premium feature,  with no advertisements and, I believe,  some extra materials. It also allows to download videos to one's computer,  but they are "hidden" and may disappear, so it's not such a good deal.  Instead,  I use the free  "RealPlayer Downloader" that creates nice files that can be transported to other devices.  I have tens of gigabytes of these files.  :)

Thats the first thing i thought of.

And i will never pay for porn, including Onlyfans. In fact, you can find many of those onlyfans videos for free online.

Didn't the saying go    "that there is nothing for free on the internet..."

There are good sayings, and there are totally false sayings.  This one is a totally false one.   The Internet is FULL of free items.

I think the most important one is: EDUCATION.  We can ask the Internet (the search engine)  anything, and it will give us an answer.  If you are an active person full of interests, constantly using your head,  you better keep your desktop computer ON all the time, because you will want to consult it many times.

If you are smart and you want to learn specific subjects for free,  you will be able to find free courses on the Internet.  This could serve in lieu of going after a university meaningless degree of high cost.   There is an explosion of free knowledge on the Internet that smart people should make use of.

The nothing free on the internet refers to the strip of your privacy rights and data collected about persons that enable to take judgments on the person.

But I am aware that some US states actually don't have very elaborated privacy laws. In some US states you can't even act against your picture being shown on the internet when not having given consent.

Here is some info on the risks, when you think "free is free", ...

TikTok Reportedly Kept a Log of Users Who Watched Gay Content

May 6, 2023

A group of ex-TikTok employees has blown the whistle on the company's alleged practice of keeping a list of users who watched gay content for at least a year.

As the Wall Street Journal reports, employees became concerned about the alleged list because it could be used to identify LGBTQ users and, if leaked or provided to hostile governments, could put those users at risk.

Social media companies have long been known to maintain detailed, personal profiles of their users to serve them personalized ads.

Nevertheless, social networks are discouraged from collecting more sensitive data such as any data related to sexual orientation because it could make targets of those users.

In a statement to the WSJ, a TikTok representative said the data in question was reportedly available for at least a year, but deleted almost a year ago. She added that the Chinese government has never asked for information about US users, nor has the company ever provided such data.

The report notes that TikTok's Chinese owner ByteDance created a center last year to house US data, in large part to appease US lawmakers, who voiced concerns over the company's data-gathering practices, which could result in the app being banned in the US.

Data about users' viewing preferences — which is grouped in "clusters" and spans genres from "alt female" to Golden State Warriors fans — have been a point of internal contention as staff and executives alike became concerned about which employees have access to what data, per the report.

All the same, this allegation of an LGBTQ user list, even if it's been deleted, is troubling.
