Your medical records is private , confidential and secret.

You are issued M.C. by doctor , doctor does not write and inform employer what is your medicaldiagnosis and maladie. Your medical.condition is strictly only between your and the doctor.

You can describe in brief detail to your employer.

If they insist to know, ask then to write to M.O.H and ask and then tell your employers to inform M.O.M. they wanted to know your detailed medical.records.

All they need is a medical certificate for your leave.

They dont need to know what you got.

It is up to MO.H to inform if need be.

Own time , own target,

One dick a day, keeps the Doctor away.

Like mass hysteria for what.

Symproms are generally mild for monkey pox , unless you are immune compromise like late stage H.I.V. infection , which we dont see nowadays with new medical treatment.

Symptoms of monkey pox are mild, like chicken pox.

You probably get scars where u never had one bèfore , like rhey say , gor chiam , chik kark marks all over the body that take months to fade.

The good news is a vaccine has already been approved by FDA as early as 2019.

So there's no need to worry about some rushed "Emergency Approval" for some experimental vaccines this time.

"A licensed vaccine that protects against monkeypox and smallpox Bavarian Nordic’s Jynneos — was approved by the FDA in 2019 for adults aged 18 years or older in the U.S. The company said in 2020 that the U.S. had ordered millions of doses of the vaccine for the national stockpile."

Monkeypox: Doctors concerned over impact on sexual health

By Philippa Roxby

Twenty cases of monkeypox have now been confirmed in the UK

Monkeypox could have a "massive impact" on access to sexual health services, doctors have warned.

Staff at clinics are already having to isolate if they have come into contact with anyone infected.

In London, where most of the UK's 20 identified cases have been detected, sexual health clinics have stopped people walking in altogether.

The British Association for Sexual Health and HIV said it was concerned about the effect on other infections.

Cases of monkeypox, which is generally mild, are rare outside Central and West Africa, but about 80 cases have been confirmed in at least 12 countries, the World Health Organization says.

Infections were confirmed in Italy, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, the US and Canada, as well as the UK - where the first European case was reported.

The WHO says another 50 suspected cases are being investigated.

Monkeypox can be spread when someone is in close contact with an infected person. The virus can enter the body through broken skin, or through the eyes, nose or mouth.

It has not previously been described as a sexually transmitted infection, but it can be passed on by direct contact during sex.

And the most recent UK cases are in gay or bisexual men which has prompted the UK Health Security Agency to encourage men who have sex with men to be aware of any unusual rashes or lesions.

They are being asked to contact their local sexual health service if they have concerns.

'Staff have to isolate'

Dr Claire Dewsnap, a consultant in genitourinary medicine and president of the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV, said staff in sexual health clinics were "already under significant pressure" and monkeypox was making that situation worse.

"It is already stretching the workforce and will have a massive impact if staff have to isolate if they are in close contact with someone who's infected," Dr Dewsnap said.

"I am concerned about the potential impact on access to sexual health generally."

In London, clinics are asking all patients to contact staff in advance and tell them their symptoms before being offered an appointment.

This is so those with monkeypox symptoms can be kept away from waiting rooms or clinics where other people are present.

Clinics elsewhere are asking only those with an unusual rash to call ahead so they can be seen in separate areas.

Some staff in sexual health clinics have already received a smallpox vaccine to help protect them against monkeypox - a smallpox jab offers some good protection since the two viruses are quite similar.

What is monkeypox?

Monkeypox rashIMAGE SOURCE,UKHSA

The rash changes and goes through different stages, and can look like chickenpox or syphilis, before finally forming a scab, which later falls off

Monkeypox is usually associated with travel to Central or West Africa, but some of the cases that have been occurring outside these countries have had no travel link.

It does not spread easily between people, but it can be spread through:

  • touching clothing, bedding or towels used by someone with the monkeypox rash
  • touching monkeypox skin blisters or scabs
  • the coughs or sneezes of a person with the monkeypox rash

If you get infected with monkeypox, it usually takes between five and 21 days for the first symptoms to appear.

Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, backache, swollen lymph nodes, chills and exhaustion.

A rash can develop, often beginning on the face, then spreading to other parts of the body. The rash changes and goes through different stages - a bit like chicken pox - before finally forming a scab, which later falls off.

2px presentational grey line

Twenty cases of monkeypox have now been confirmed in the UK, with a further 11 announced on Friday, and most have been mild.

However, the disease can be more severe, especially in young children, pregnant women, and people who have weakened immune systems.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid said on Friday that the UK was stocking up on smallpox vaccine doses to help protect some groups against the virus.

A smallpox jab offers some good protection against monkeypox since the two viruses are quite similar.

Ten other countries, including the US, Portugal, Spain and Canada, have also detected cases.

The World Health Organization is convening an emergency meeting with experts about the spread of the virus which is normally found in remote parts of central and west Africa.

Sir Peter Horby, director of the Pandemic Sciences Institute at Oxford University, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that "it is an unusual situation where we seem to have had the virus introduced but now ongoing transmission within certain communities".

He said that the key message to people with symptoms was to "seek attention, get diagnosed and then to be isolated in some way at home so that they don't spread it on".

Asked how effective current treatments are, he said there was a post-exposure prophylaxis that can be given to close contacts and an anti-viral drug was also being tested in central Africa "so there's a lot that can be done".

More than 80 cases of monkeypox have been confirmed in at least 12 countries.

The World Health Organization has said another 50 suspected cases are being investigated - without naming any countries - and warned that more cases are likely to be reported.

Infections have been confirmed in nine European countries, as well as the US, Canada and Australia.

Monkeypox is most common in remote parts of Central and West Africa.

It is a rare viral infection which is usually mild and from which most people recover in a few weeks, according to the UK's National Health Service.

The virus does not spread easily between people and the risk to the wider public is said to be very low.

There is no specific vaccine for monkeypox, but a smallpox jab offers 85% protection since the two viruses are quite similar.

German scientist in a laboratoryIMAGE SOURCE,REUTERS

Germany has detected its first case of monkeypox

So far, public health agencies in Europe have confirmed cases in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Sweden.

In a statement on Friday, the WHO said that the recent outbreaks "are atypical, as they are occurring in non-endemic countries".

It said it was "working with the affected countries and others to expand disease surveillance to find and support people who may be affected".

It is not yet clear why this unusual outbreak is happening now.

One possibility is that the virus has changed in some way, although currently there is little evidence to suggest this is a new variant.

Another explanation is that the virus has found itself in the right place at the right time to thrive.

Monkeypox may also spread more easily than it did in the past, when the smallpox vaccine was widely used.

WHO's Europe regional director Hans Kluge warned that "as we enter the summer season... with mass gatherings, festivals and parties, I am concerned that transmission could accelerate".

He added that all but one of the recent cases had no relevant travel history to areas where monkeypox was endemic.

The first case of the disease in the UK was reported on 7 May. The patient had recently travelled to Nigeria, where they are believed to have caught the virus before travelling to England, the UK Health Security Agency said.

There are now 20 confirmed cases in the UK, Health Secretary Sajid Javid said on Friday.

Authorities in the UK said they had bought stocks of the smallpox vaccine and started offering it to those with "higher levels of exposure" to monkeypox.

Spanish health authorities have also reportedly purchased thousands of smallpox jabs to deal with the outbreak, according to Spanish newspaper El País.

Australia's first case was detected in a man who fell ill after travelling to the UK, the Victorian Department of Health said.

In North America, health authorities in the US state of Massachusetts confirmed that a man has been infected after recently travelling to Canada. He was in "good condition" and "poses no risk to the public", officials said.

Note, I stated top/bottom.

Doesn't matter whether you're top or bottom. Close contact with exchange of fluids like saliva during kissing or giving head will expose you to the virus.

Eventually, regardless of race or nationality, it will spread.

The tricky bit is that the symptoms are most evident. So it'll be hard to explain to colleagues and family why you are away (quarantined) for that long, assuming you are not the 10% where the affliction is fatal

‘Generally, monkeypox cases are mild and people tend to recover within weeks. But the death rate varies, depending on the type. The ECDC has said that the west African clade, the type so far seen in Europe, has a case fatality rate of around 3.6% (estimated from studies conducted in African countries). Mortality is higher in children, young adults, and immunocompromised individuals.’

That's why I say that your name is missing the letter 'T' at the end of it.

From the very same journal article you so indiscriminately plagiarised:

How is it spreading?

Transmission between people mostly occurs through large respiratory droplets, normally meaning prolonged contact face to face. But the virus can also spread through bodily fluids. The latest cases have mainly been among men who have sex with men.

The UK Health Security Agency said that, although monkeypox has not previously been described as a sexually transmitted infection, it can be passed on by direct contact during sex. It can also be passed on through other close contact with a person who has monkeypox or contact with clothing or linens used by a person who has monkeypox.

In this case, it isn't flaming n bitching wars between guest posts on saunas so I think posting about it is relevant, especially since cases seem to have originated in Spain n Belgium where rave sex occurred n many of the identified cases are LGBT. Furthermore this virus has an incubation period of 5 to 21 days. How is it posting about it not relevant to a thread for sauna-goers?

Keeping guys informed is only right and individuals should be mature enough to make their own decisions and to look out for symptoms just in case

I disagree with the moderators on shifting such relevant and important info from the sauna threads where the people most need to know the info are reading, onto a separate thread. But I am afterall not a moderator, so I respect their role and their having to make such decisions after considering pros and cons

But what I can share is that this virus has an incubation of 5 to 21 days. And has increased from a handful of cases in a few countries to now 22 countries 354 cases in 3 weeks.

We know how we have fun with different people, and we should be alert to the situation n watch out for ourselves, our community and our love ones.

If you think it will not reach Singapore, think again. For myself I'll rather observe what happens the next 3 to 6 weeks first

Extract from link above: "As of Wednesday, there were 346 confirmed and suspected cases in 22 countries outside of Africa, where the virus is endemic, according to Our World In Data...

The majority of new cases have spread through sex, with a particular concentration among men who have sex with men. However, the World Health Organization has cautioned that anyone could be at risk of contracting the virus. Children, pregnant woman and the immunocompromised are considered particularly at risk."

"Recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.K.'s National Health Service and WHO include:

  • Avoid coming into contact with people recently diagnosed with the virus or those who may have been infected.
  • Wear a face mask if you are in close contact with someone who has symptoms.
  • Use condoms and keep an eye out for symptoms if you have recently changed sexual partners.

What to do if you catch monkeypox

If you suspect that you may have contracted monkeypox, you should isolate yourself from physical contact with others and seek medical advice immediately.

Initial symptoms of monkeypox include fever, headaches, muscle ache, swelling and backpain. Rashes and lesions then typically emerge on the face, hands, feet, eyes, mouth or genitals within one to five days. Those rashes turn into raised bumps and then blisters, which may fill with white fluid before breaking and scabbing over."

If we take the maximum incubation period of 21 days. From 6th May until end May. It grew from the first case in the UK to 606 cases in 30 countries based on Ourworldindata

I'll rather be safe and observe a little bit more and avoid possible places of mass transmission for now

All you need is shared surfaces (beds / bodies touching or breathing in coughs of droplets in close proximity) because the virus is very stable and long lasting on surfaces

Sure, it is most probably not fatal. But symptoms will be damn obvious for 2 to 4 weeks and it'll have repurcussions on your family, especially if you have vulnerable young and old in the household

Stay safe

The log chart's (not the linear one) gradient is decreasing meaning the rate of increase in cases is decreasing. From 3rd to 5th June only added 1 case. If it carries on the same trend, then it is under control. But who knows, to be safe, I would observe a few more weeks (1 to 2 cycles of 21 days max period of incubation)

And on top of that, "a 42-year-old male British national who works as a flight attendant and was in Singapore between 15 and 17 June 2022 and again on 19 June as he flew in and out of Singapore. He tested positive for monkeypox on 20 June.

The onset happened on June 14 and he can still come into Singapore from June 15 to June 17, and then again on 19 June. He was only detected on 20 June after the usual most highly infectious incubation period and after the virus has grown full blown.
