Planning to do the route with friends, one of whom just reached a milestone in their life. Its about 2 weeks of hiking from Porto and will follow the Atlantic coast then head inward to Spain. Im hoping its not too crowded as it is the 2nd most popular route. I did the 800km one last year and it was crowded during the first few days and it was hard to find accommodations. If you’re doing it in summer, it’s bound to get crowded. Quote

The planning we did was mostly dividing the walk into stages and booking hotels/hostels/albergues where we plan to end for the night. We needed to plan the stages and accommodations because my companions have luggage delivery services and dont want uncertainties. Quote

Initially, my plan was to start with Rovanienmi where I probably could enjoy the Aurora and Santa Claus Village. It would definitely much colder than Helsinki. After some researches done, decided to stick to Helsinki and skip Rovanienmi/Lapland. In fact, my main goal is Baltics for this Christmas. Since Helsinki is just 2.5hours ferry ride away from Tallinn, Estonia and Finniar has a good offer, so I will land in Helsinki.
