groyn88 Posted April 14, 2025 Posted April 14, 2025 MP Louis Ng of Nee Soon GRC is one of the best allies that we have in the PAP. Some of you may have missed this Parliamentary debate which he had with Minister on Manpower Tan See Leng over the exclusion of sexual orientation and gender identity from the TAFEP (Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices) website. On Wednesday, 8 January 2025, during the second of the two-day Parliamentary debate on the Workplace Fairness Bill, PAP MP Louis Ng thanked Manpower Minister Tan See Leng for confirming that discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity was covered under the Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP) but that this was currently not stated on the TAFEP website. Ng asked that TAFEP explicitly state on their website that sexual orientation and gender identity be included. Quote

It's commendable that Louis brought out our minister's contradition and demanded that he act on his statements. I don't think it was a oversight; it was just done on purpose to leave space and make things easier for the G in the event that they changed their minds about LGBT discrimination in workplace. groyn88 1 Quote
