sphere
I am fine having the smartphone, not looking forward to any implants or tattoo, haha. Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman agree : the days of smartphones are numbered, Tim Cook disagrees The tech world is abuzz with speculation about the future of smartphones, and some of the biggest names in the industry are painting vastly different pictures. While figures like Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Sam Altman believe that the smartphone era is nearing its end, Apple’s Tim Cook stands firm in his conviction that these devices will continue to play a major role in our lives for years to come. Futuristic Visions: Replacing Smartphones with Emerging Technologies Elon Musk, always at the forefront of innovation with companies like Neuralink, predicts a future where smartphones are obsolete. Instead, he envisions brain-computer interfaces that would allow users to control devices with their thoughts, eliminating the need for physical interfaces altogether. This idea is already being tested, with two people having successfully received implants, showing the potential of this groundbreaking technology. Meanwhile, Bill Gates, ever the visionary, has put his money into a different approach—electronic tattoos. Developed by Chaotic Moon, these tattoos incorporate nanocensors capable of collecting, transmitting, and receiving data. Gates sees them offering a range of applications, especially in healthcare, GPS tracking, and communication, pushing us closer to a world where traditional smartphones are no longer needed. Similarly, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, predicts that augmented reality (AR) glasses will become the next dominant computing platform, replacing smartphones by 2030. These glasses, according to Zuckerberg, would enable users to perform most tasks that are currently done on smartphones, including communication and entertainment, in a much more seamless, hands-free manner. Apple’s Position: A Renewed Confidence in Smartphones In stark contrast to these futuristic predictions, Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, remains confident in the future of the smartphone. Under his leadership, Apple continues to innovate in this space, with the recent release of the iPhone 16 that includes advanced artificial intelligence features aimed at enriching the user experience. These continuous improvements highlight Apple’s belief that smartphones will remain central to daily life, even as new technologies emerge. Cook stresses Apple’s commitment to quality and usefulness in their products, ensuring that smartphones are not only relevant but essential. Despite the advancements in augmented reality and artificial intelligence, Cook believes that smartphones will continue to coexist with these technologies, complementing them rather than being replaced by them. While the future of technology remains uncertain, the battle between traditional smartphones and emerging devices is only just beginning. Musk, Gates, Zuckerberg, and Altman are envisioning a world where new technologies are set to overtake the smartphone’s dominance. On the other hand, Tim Cook’s steadfast belief in the enduring relevance of smartphones showcases Apple’s ongoing commitment to innovation within a familiar and trusted form. As the tech landscape continues to evolve, it will be fascinating to see whether these predictions hold true or if, like with every era of technology, the old guard adapts and thrives alongside the new. Steve5380
I agree with Apple, the smartphone is a 21 century miracle which I would not replace by having things implanted inside me. There is a blessing in being able to stay away from smartphones and experience nature. Today's smartphone has optimized connectivity, display on its entire surface, speed. What needs to improve is volume and weight, when higher capacity batteries are available. There are much more important areas to improve on, like transportation with self-driving cars, etc.

Why?
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Just make humanoids inexpensive for the lonely gay man. It may assist with household tasks, engage in intelligent conversation, act as your security guard, transport you to the clinic if you have mobility issues, call the emergency hotline if you fall at home, remind you to take your medicine, supplements....etc and—above all—be your outdoor activities companion.. LOL! Robotics and AI may become the perfect help for lonely gay men. Perhaps ? they will come in time for you, but too late for me. Therefore, I have to take care of myself to do what these robots would do for me. I have no problems with this, it's a little work, but what else to do in retirement? Maybe you won't have to wait long enough to realize that China has advanced this technology much and that owning a friendly robot will likely cost you very little. Now all you have to do is stay up to date with their rapid advancements, often sooner than expected, which frequently caught the world off guard. For a start, I often marvelled at their robotic wolves, which might be a good substitute for people who love dogs but hate the hassles, Let's see if it will be on sale for use in domestic purposes, at least to help keep undesirable people away from me. Hopefully you are right and the development of robotic domestic help for seniors will come much earlier than I anticipated.
