egal Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 What did you use? I am thinking an eSIM with calls might be useful, in case I need to conatct an uber driver etc, so noy just with data? What would you recommend? Cheers! Quote
Alex Pulai Spring Resort Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 During my last trip to Eastern Europe, I bought an Local eSIM from LeleTravel. It came with a local number (French, if I'm not mistaken), 15 days of validity, 12GB of data, and 30 mins of international calling. The price was around 25 SGD / RM75+ In my experience, it's always a good idea to get at least a data plan, just in case you need internet access for Google or navigation. Having a local number is a bonus, as you never know when you might need to contact a local restaurant for a reservation or something similar. Hope this helps✌️ HarveyLoh 1 Quote
JK2E4 Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 I usually travel with Klook eSIM. Although there are no local call allowance, I have never encounter the need for it. Quote
egal Posted July 29, 2025 Author Posted July 29, 2025 thank you, Alex. just wondering, the french number, when you call in another country outside france, as you were in eastern europe, would that have cost a lot? or was it like just calling a local number? Quote
egal Posted July 29, 2025 Author Posted July 29, 2025 thank you, JK. maybe just data alone is enough...hmm... Quote

There’s no additional cost as it’s included in the package. And yes, it’s just like calling a local number, the same as you did in Sg no difference. The package I chose includes 30 minutes, but they also offer one with 120 minutes. However, I feel that 30 minutes is enough for my usage. Quote
yexben Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 I purchase an esim data plan from Shopee last december for my trip to Poland. Setup the esim settings before my departure, and turn on the data roam once landed. It was a pleasant experience and highly recommended. And it's affordable for unlimited data throughout the whole trip, but, outgoing calls are not available. You might consider this seller Szoove. I also used their service for my trip to Taiwan 2 months ago, which I only need to topup the esim instead of new esim purchase. Quote Visiting Baltics coming december, care to share some of your experiences
youdoyou Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 I’ve mostly used Airalo. They’re pretty hassle-free. If you’re with giga, you get 6gb international roaming included in your package, which covers most EU countries. Quote
bwf15 Posted October 27, 2025 Posted October 27, 2025 BNE has several options to offer via their esim. - One-time vs Lifetime - Local (one country) vs Region - etc Their lifetime esims are quite useful. I have it on my phone as a backup in the event my roaming data from my SG plan got issues when going overseas. Quote
