Though its almost a default practise to be shirtless in hostel, it is definitely different with girls around - and the with jocks that like to show off their ripped bods

yeah,  started like that too. but slowly got used to the idea. Hot sun + sweat = shirts off

wow almost a default practice, looks like i missed out. yeah. it must be different with women around. i noticed that after ns when my body got bigger and muscular, i got more stares from women than compared to when i was smaller sized in school. what seems to be the case with a lot of women is that they are thirsty for men with bigger and muscular bodies, your typical jocks and enjoy looking at them but often settle down with guys with average and less than average bodies. i guess it's easier to be with a man that not many other women and some men would be interested in. lol.

yeah hot sun leads to a lot of sweat which means the shirt must come off. you also get ugly tan lights when you wear a shirt and exercise in the hot sun. best thing is to just to go for your run/exercise outdoors shirtless. but always remember to spray on that sunblock. ;)

Went for a shirtless run around 11pm last night. Quite cooling  and not many people around. Very peaceful. I found that I perspired a lot too although it was cool. I always thought you would perspire more during midday so I was quite surprised.

After about 20 mins of running saw another shirtless guy running from opposite direction towards me. We gave a friendly nod to one another before passing by one another.

How abt cycling..

Izzit ok to be shirtless too?

You seldom see certain sports/exercise guys would be topless. Like cycling, badminton, squash etc. Usually might have chance to see guys go topless in jogging and basketball/football only.

I think it is possible but there will be some aunties going "Aiyoh! How can? No shame is it?" complains on Stomp etc. Their sense of modesty outraged by the sight of bare ankles.

Saw a man shirtless in his running shorts and shoes walking to the traffic light from the Punggol PCN. Think he live across the road as he was without his shirt and also just finished his run. Quite hot to see a shirtless man crossing the road.

I saw one guy wearing super low cut waist N2N blue jammer in Punggol PCN.

At another time, I saw different man wearing N2N white long tights in Siglap PCN.

I am very certain that they did not wear underwear! Low cut waist reaching pubis! Holy cow...

I don't know whether to laugh or shy looking at them. To me, they are serious joggers, don't bother about how people look at them.

Saw this 30yo plus shirtless guy going to the lift when it was about to close as there was someone in the lift. He just completed his run. I think he left his house shirtless, always see him running shirtless in the park.

Shirtless is the best way to run especially in the hot weather we are having. Wearing a shirt will be very uncomfortable. I would be perspiring like crazy.

I am hoping more people will be less shy and run topless always. I even always jio people to run topless together weekly. A gutsy unshy guy is normally more worthy and more interesting to be a friend than a timid shy guy. Toplessness is one way to check this attribute.

Well, that's a bunch of crap.

I keep my top on when I jog coz I'm conscious of other folks around me and I don't think they would enjoy being dripped or flung by my sweat.

How does that make me less worthy and interesting.

When a person jog topless there's hardly any chance your sweat will be dripped or flung by your sweat to reach other people unless you purposely swipe your sweated area with your hands and flung it on others. Another reason is other guy is also a gay and purposely jog so close to you that he can accidentally knock on your topless body lol.

As for worthy part i will have to quote an example. For example someone found out that you are gay and insulted you in public. Do you think a gutsy bf or a timid bf will stand up for you if you have a bf?

As for the interesting part a gutsy bf will bring you on outdoor activities thus more interesting things to play with. Although there are some interesting indoor activities which a shy aj still can play with, they got much lesser flexibility on the things they can play with thus concluded on how a gutsy aj friend or bf is much more interesting than a shy one.

Don't run shirtless under the hot sun without sun block.  You should know the harmful effect of uv rays.  Damage is irreversible.

Yes. It's always cool when more people run topless. But somehow the majority always keep their top on even if they have quite nice and fit bods. I guess it boils down to habit. Guys who are not topless at home most likely would also not jog topless in public or at the gym. At least that's my assumption.

A lot of my friends are buddies since army and they all continue the habit of running shirtless since army. First time I went running with my colleague, he was surprised to see I ran shirtless.  But the second time we met for run, he followed me and appeared shirtless. Lol.

Haha. I always spray on some Sun block before i run. Although I'm naturally tanned and so don't burn. Just slap on a layer for protection.

A lot of people are shy and always wanted others to start topless first before they have the bravery to go topless. Your bravery of going topless had a chain reaction effect to bring out his bravery too.

There are although some friends who always pour cold water and say those topless guys are flasher. They are afraid to show off their body they also want you to not show to accompanied them. They afraid once more people go topless they will be the weird one and force to go topless lol.

i don't understand why we should be shy about it. being topless is something that is quite natural for men. Especially in our hot weather it's not something unheard of. but yes i do agree going topless first can cause a chain reaction. because i've realised after passing some guys while running topless they will also take off their shirt and continue to jog. perhaps they feel it's more acceptable when they see other guys do it as well.

i just don't understand why it should be weird. i realise even in ns now most of the physical training is conducted shirtless. if you go shirtless like every training doesn't that become a norm? i would think it would be harder to adjust to wearing a shirt back while running after you ord.

It's a lot more comfortable, and hey, it's how I get a tan while doing something I love.

completely agree with you bro. i don't see what's the issue some guys have face with it. i don't think it's even about whether you have a nice body or not. i've seen guys with all types of bodies going shirtless while jogging. i think it's really about comfort. it's the best way to get an even tan while working out. something you might not be able to do at a gym.

Saw some guy in my estate running topless. From far, looks like fit body. When he got nearer, about 20m away, can see really quite fit and muscled. But when I finally passed him up close, his muscles though large and with visible 4-pack, are slightly saggy. Worse, his nipples were larger than $1 coin (eeeeeeeee!). Better go see my optometrist on Monday.

If you got the guts and the body to flaunt it, why not do it now?

Don't wait until you reach the stage when it becomes an eyesore.

Running topless was quite a norm during my NS days in the late 70s/early 80s.

Everyone was young and therefore having a taut and tan body was the norm.

Plus in those days, the shorts were really short and yes, wearing boxers was not a norm.

Almost everyone wore tiny briefs and/or go commando.

Now that I can't jog anymore (due to bad knees and old age), I do my evening stroll in shorts and singlets along the Park Connector from Potong Pasir to Braddell.  The walk is just a short 2 km but on good nights, there are still some eye-candy, both Asians and Caucasians.

Definitely there is an element of that in doing so! But isn’t that what it’s all about??

I remember walking to the pool and there was this fit jogger who jogged past me and slowed down. He took off his shirt (under armour), maybe to flaunt off his well trained back (V-shape).

Makes me wonder if he does this to many people to show off his assets(?)

If you have it, flaunt it.  If you don't have it, better hide it.

My habit of running shirtless started when I was in NS. I was a Specialist and and posted to a camp opposite side from my house. It was a hassle to get home and make it back early the next morning. So I ended up going home every 2 days once.

My free nights were usually spent in the gym or running around camp. I realised I was doing a lot of laundry in the weekends. So when I saw some of my fellow specialists gymming n running shirtless I decided to follow suit.

That habit continued after NS. Since there's not many gyms in Singapore where you can workout shirtless I just continue to go for my runs shirtless. I guess because I don't work regular office hours I get to avoid the crowds and go for my quieter runs in the afternoon without the stares.

Some guys who always run topless could be due to habit in NS back then. Last time in my camp, there was one guy who would default take off his shirt to run, be it during platoon PT run, company level run or his own running. And even after ORD saw him in uni who he stayed in hall, also saw him running topless round campus.

Today saw one guy running topless along cck drive, his bod looks not bad from his back but when i saw his chest area, his body is more like meaty type than fit and muscular but not fat type although his chest area looks quite meaty and he also have a big nipples, but still looks yummy with his hot and sweaty bod.

During my NS days, we would run shirtless as well. We had to run 3x weekly in camp as some fitness initiative. Everyone had to do it unless you are on MC. Didn't think much of it as it was norm.

I never have chance to run topless in NS as it is not compulsory for everyone of us to take off our t-shirt, it is up to individual preference.

Is this part of a combat or service vocation? Because when I was downgraded and got posted to another camp there used to be this 3x weekly running to get people at the service side fitter. But the staff won't show up. It was mostly the nsf and some of the garang regular soldiers. But yes a lot of us would just go topless even though it wasn't compulsory. Most of us even worked out topless in the camp gym as well. Miss those times.

I think it's compulsory in some of the physical training in bmt to be topless. But when you get posted to different camps I think it depends on the culture of the unit. My friend who used to be a commando said it's automatic shirtless for running and training in camp.

It's so easy to criticise other people, isn't it? You say he's fit yet you nitpick on his nipples. Why don't you post your body pic here and we'll see if your body is better.

Quite rare to see no one go topless in during training especially for combat side. But then again it depends on each individual platoon I believe.

During my bmt not compulsory to be topless. If only did our commanders tell us to be, then we can go topless. I even remember one of the sgts telling us during one of our training. A lot of us wanted to be topless but he refused. He told us it was a privilege and not our decision. But eventually he did tell us halfway through our training to ditch the shirts and continue topless.

But of course when we are back in coy line almost everybody is topless walking around in just shorts or boxers. Nobody puts any restrictions coz even the commanders do the same. Lol.

For units like commando and guards I guess it's very common to go topless during training. Even aftet NS many ex commandos and guards like to be topless. At home, exercising and any chance they get. The habit is hard to change I think.
