NielKlient Posted May 16, 2012 Report Share Posted May 16, 2012 After you load the app, add IRC Connections under Connections at the bottom of the screen.under address, you can enter pacific.sg.galaxynet.org.put in your desired nickname and realname and hit connect on the top right corner of your screen.As for channel choices, rmb to put '#', then the channel name. If I were you, get AndroIRC app from play store. A commonly used server is exodus.us.galaxynet.sg. Alternatively, try everything else which doesn't tap on singapore.sg and pacific.sg because their protocol is obsolete with the current networking settings in Singapore. (meaning, these two servers are not in the active list of galaxynet, hence they don't send packets since there's no protocol to connect your phone and the galaxynet source server.) If you're using SSL on other apps/iPhone-based IRC apps, my suggestion is to start from command prompt first. Click Windows Start button, type in search field 'cmd'. In command prompt, choose the release or renew functions to refresh your ethernet/internet adaptor. Refer to the ipconfig functions list i have on screenshot below. Try to use wifi connectivity as much as possible to complement SSL connectivity. Log the info from the renew-ed ipconfig information accordingly. Reason being: SSL connection taps on proxy servers and ports. SSL automatically detects server's decrypted data out-flow from the source DB (Galaxynet.org), as such, you can't can't use a fixed entity/value 6667 which is fixed for random servers by default. Commands: ipconfig/ renew or ipconfig / renew EL* for renew functions (2)ipconfig/release *con* for release function (1)Try re-starting your app. Especially to those using older versions of iPhone, Samsung, Blackberry etc. Fields in AndroChat Server Settings:Name: The name of the server. That name will appear only on the servers list and is helpful to recognize your serverAddress: IRC server addres. Can be a full address or an IP address (irc.epiknet.org or 217.174.199.222)Port: Connection port, typically 6667.Password: Some server ask for a password at connection. Set it here.NickName: You can override default nickname here. If you leave the field empty, the default nickname will be usedAlternative: You can override default alternative nickname here. If you leave the field empty, the default alternative nickname will be usedIdent: You can override default ident here. If you leave the field empty, the default ident will be usedCharset: Set connection charset. Defaults to 'UTF-8', but some server may use a different charset (Chinese / Japanese servers generally use other charset)Secured connection: Enable SSL connection, allowing encryption of all the data between the server and AndroIRC. Usually, SSL connection need a different port than 6667. Ask your server for more informations about the right port for SSL connectionAuto-connect: Auto-connect to this server when AndroIRC launch.Auto-join channels: If set, all the channels set for this server will be automatically joined on connection.
