Guest Guest Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 as per the title.personally i do most of the time out of courtesy to the next user.it's quite heart breaking when you see someone (a stranger) u like/admire in the gym who just throw the dumb bells, barbell, etc all over the gym floor and walk away after he's done with his routine. Guest Gym Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Its in the gym u most often see exhibition of self-centredness and selfishness.Besides the above, many does not know what sharing is (esp in public gyms). There is this angmo at my development who runs on threadmill and sweats so much, but does not have a towel. When done, he leaves the threadmill still running. Its like, the I-need-to-look-good-and-heck-the-rest behaviour in maximising training for themselves.Even if some of these guys are quite goodlooking, somehow, when seeing such unbecoming behaviour, they seem so unlikeable. (What more some are not goodlooking). Quote
wolfyboy Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 which is why people like me go there and clean up the mess although im not a worker...if i happen to see stuff lying around and really no one is there then i just put it back....unless its too heavy ( i small size -,-) Quote

Grrrrr!Ha, I lov ur grrrrr!Unfortunately in our modern society, self-centredness is the norm when all we were taught during our growing up years was 2 excel in everything n 2 surpass others. The virtue of sharing is gradually lost. Edited April 11, 2012 by delon lusterx 1 Quote

loveedovee Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 There was once when a guy was doing crunches in the stretching area and later fell asleep.. how did I know? Cos he was snoring loudly! hahaha Quote
Guest bigbangbang Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 There was this encounter when I politely ask a guy if we could share the dumb bell and as he was holding it at the time, he looked at me and simply drop it down on the floor with a "thump" sound so loud that everyone turned around and looked at us. I seriously think that action of his is not needed as it is just plain rude to do that. Oh well... Quote
sgboy82 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Hate it when he puts his towel at one machine and move on to another machine or walks around, watch TV, chit-chat etc. Quote
junxiang Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Hate it when he puts his towel at one machine and move on to another machine or walks around, watch TV, chit-chat etc.I thought the main culprits are usually the personal trainers themselves? They can "chop" 3 station at one go for their customer. Guest Truestory Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I so agree. However, at my gym most users seem considerate and only a few hulks look arrogant but even they are not rude or totally inconsiderate. I do notice that in this forum, when people rant about something even with justification(like ranting about inconsiderate gym users), and their opinions differ from those being critisized, they are deemed as trolls.Take this for example. If all the "inconsiderate" gym users come here and say: So much hate around here! All of you are trolls. As a personal trainer my trainee has paid for the training and there is a routine to follow, I'm allowed to use the equipment and I came first so who are you to ask disturb my lesson? Or how about: When someone is obviously using a dumbell can't you just wait? Why must you be so impatient and insist that they share with you? Even if you are polite you're causing inconvenience to others and they are clearly using it, not sitting around doing nothing and claiming that they are using it. Admin please lock this thread. So those who rant about the supposedly inconsiderate gym users are trolls? Of course the "hatred" is not as evident as in the rantings about fat delusional people, arrogant people, etc, but aren't they the same? So how about develop some tolerance for those whose opinions differ from yours and who are not just randomly and unreasonably critisizing others but have good reasons for ranting. Many a time, the real trolls are calling others trolls. They are just trolls in a subtle way - all the same. Quote
Manbane Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Most people are alright in the gyms i go to-true fitness and California. Only on some occasions i see guys really use a station for damn long time.Sometimes when i do heavy sets which need 3 to 5 min rest, there r guys who thought i am hogging and ask to share...pretty ok with me if they ask nicely.Trainers with their student can be annoying when they want to share the stations and yet they dont look at the rest time. End up my training rest time is screwed. But overall, i think its pretty ok so far. Quote

gstc82 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Gym regulars at club fit delta are mostly all considerate, with few exceptions like not wiping sweat off the bench n treadmill, but what I can't stand most are those who "grunt loudly" n those who don't put the dumbbells back at proper place, these idiots place 10kg at 14kg, 8kg at 12kg! Someone just leave on the floor N dissapeared! Sometimes I can't take it n help to rearrange the weights. Most of the guys there are mostly polite. Oh, I hate most is some idiot hog several benches when they change n left other ppl standing in the change rm, one seat for his bum, one for his bag, one for shoe bag! Can't stand such inconsiderate idiots, will usually ask loudly, "u mind removing your bag"? Quote

Guest Sensible Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 CaptainM loves to label as trolls those guest posters who criticise his fatness and deludedness.Although I agree with you there's really no reason to get so personal and mention his being overweight because it really isn't relevant. Also, although I believe we have the right to rant about deluded people, we shouldn't get personal because it really isn't nice. Things are obvious enough as it is, no need to highlight them further. BW members do not say such things out in fear of being labelled as trolls and also to save face for him. Quote
