Probably caused by new rules from china media dept. Not 100% sure but they feel the craze from those idol producing shows (esp the most recent female one) cause negative influence (eg spend too much money to vote)....just recently set some new rules eg idols from such shows can't appear on TV stations (so non-internet-based variety shows can't invite them anymore) and underage also can't appear. Pity these newbies....how to promote like that. So many shows has to be edited, change some format or tone down.....to avoid issues. Maybe the rules didn't specify but many stations tend to over-react 1st. China media dept (whatever is called) tend to deal things heavy-handed....the same goes with the BL theme (and some BL actors)....and also Rap/Hip-hop singers (b'cos one winner had some scandal with married actress last yr). She was 11th in the competition. No wonder she looked familiar. She was good during Singapore Idol. I still remember her after all these years. Hope she can do well in Sing! China 2018. This new format of KP-ing during the audition rounds doesn't allow the viewers to really get to know the contestants and invest in their journeys. I am now watching because of Li Jian... man, he is so adorable! I actually burst out laughing at some of his witty responses. Nicholas is a waste of time, fickle minded, no direction. We have 2 good Singaporean contestants this year but both are already eliminated from the competition. Plus we did not get to know about the contestants more. I feel not invested in the contestants. It's like, within 1 episode, we hear the contestants sing a few songs but we did not get to know more about them first. Feels very foreign. Saw the show on Channel 8 and quite like it so googled more about it. Found out Season 2 of the show just started 2 months back with brand new competition format, compared to Season 1 which is showing right now on channel 8. In Season 2 of the show, the featured singers must sing 3 非主打歌 from their own album and "fight" against 3 singers who are singing the 主打歌 from the featured singer's album. Basically is a fight between the featured singer's 非主打歌 and 主打歌. Tanya is the featured singer in Episode 8 of Season 2. She had to sing 3 非主打歌 from her album and compete against 3 singers who are singing her 3 主打歌 Can Tanya sing 3 非主打歌 and beat the other singers singing her 主打歌, or will other singers singing her 主打歌 beat her?
