set my eyes on the Capitol and the nearby GSM sauna. Find there wasn’t hard with the adequate instructions but going there was a chore due to the constant traffic jam in Chinatown.

oralb tip: make good use of the skytrain and MRT, the cost saving isn’t substantial but it saves a lot of time when you are not struck in traffic. If you see a nearby station, it might be faster to take a train there and change to taxi later. In this case the nearest MRT station is Hua Lamphong

Wanted to visit Capitol before moving to GSM, after making a few rounds and couldn’t find the cinema, I have to pull out lunker’s printed posting and asked around. I was shown to a shop front that looks like it is undergoing renovation, due to the language problem, I wasn’t sure the cinema has closed down or renovating.

Retract my way back to the GSM building, Lunker was right about the entrance, it was covered by the handphone accessories stands that if you don’t notice, you would have missed the entrance.

I was there around 4:15pm and had to pay 150 BHT entrance. The sauna spans 2 levels plus the 3rd level restaurant. Physical condition isn’t the best and I guessed the designer had wanted to design the whole place as a huge maze, many times I found pave way led to nowhere and some entrances to another room are located in odd places. Combing the whole place is an adventure itself and I meant it as a bad way. The staircases prove to the safety hazards as some without handle while others were dangerous in the dim lighting.

Facilities were almost down to none with the steam bath not working and the dry sauna had a strong smell inside (probably cum smell) plenty of rooms on the 2nd level but with no lub nor condoms at sight. I saw plenty of sofa and reclining chairs around. I can only guessed before the guest house open at the same building, GSM sauna also function as a stand-in sauna for the sauna.

To me what’s unique about the place is the 2nd level outdoor area, with carefully placed potted plants; you can sit around naked while looking out to the streets.

By now some of you might wonder about my comments on the sauna patrons, I will do a summary report together with GG sauna as both places have the same crowds.

oralb tip: time is money, and it is even so in the sauna, GSM charges 100 BHT before 4pm and 150 BHT after 4pm, while GG charges 120 before 5pm and 160BHT after 5pm. Both are weekend rates. So if you plan your visit carefully, you can save around 100BHT for both location and go treat yourself to a cheap Jap set meal there

At the request of Lunker, I decided to check out GG sauna the next day. (when I reached there and saw the crowd, I reminded myself to come back to kick lunker’s ass )

GG is really out of the way, in fact the landmark of Samsen Train station (not MRT or skytrain, it is the actual coal train station) wasn’t even in all the maps I had. The closest skytrain station is Victory Monument, so this should give you a guide to the location.

Once you reached Samsen station, finding the sauna wasn’t that hard, it was around 50m away from it, provided you know the correct direction (utopia-asia has the detailed direction).

GG is a 2 storey detached housing, level 1 housed the steam bath and sauna while 2nd level is the private room. Facilities GG is better as both dry and wet sauna are usable, but the floor space is smaller than GSM, especially in the number of private rooms. Phyiscal condition wasn’t the best as most facilities have seen better days.

1st level housed a small restaurant which has a karaoke system, a lounge area and a small gym.

Killer staircases were present as well so be careful when you are there.

Now here’s the men report and the reason why I am wanted to kick lunker’s ass. Both places carter to the following crowds:

1. Chubby to stocky, more rugged look

2. Mature chubby to stocky

3. their chasers

so if you falls under none of the categories, better luck elsewhere. Unfortunately for me, I happen to be in this situation as I prefer my mature man to be slim to average built, more refined look. (hint hint)

Therefore if you taste is in chunky rugged look thai locals, these 2 joints are the best for you, forget Chakran and Babylon.

oralb tip: GG offered dinner when I was there, at 6plus most men stopped their activities and queued up at the small restaurant for the free food. So in a way, the 160 BHT doubled up as dinner charges, but before you get too happy, that night dinner consisted of rice, stir-fried pork with intestines, winter melon soup and raw vegetables. If that sounded like delicacy to you, then 160BHT is a steal

oh there is a difference, the one i described is for the hetrosexual, i havent tried the PLU one.

I have another one to recommend, BodyTune. If i remember correctly, they have 2 branches, 1 in Silom and 1 in Sukhumvit. Very comfortable Thai massage like those from Health Land, but they are abit more expensive, 450 bht for 90 mins.
