A new addition to my collection! I found this rare piece at an amazing price!

Madonna's 2005 original European pressing "Confessions on a Dancefloor" limited pink vinyl sealed. Very excited to have one of my favourite Madonna albums besides "Ray of Light" and "Erotica".

OMG!!  WHERE did you get this LP from, please?  I want to buy it too.  I went for the Confessions Tour concert in Chicago, back in 2006!

OMG The Confessions Tour was LEGENDARY!! So lucky you got to see it live!! I can only dream...

I found it at Zenn Audio at Simpang Bedok! I think there was only 1 and I snagged it.. But there were several other Madonna stuff too! I saw Erotica, Like A Virgin, Madame X and several other singles pressings.

Heya @SurpriseMEinHere, I've been well, how about yourself?

I just realised you've not shared your vinyl collection or latest purchase with us at all!

It's about time perhaps...

Anyway, my latest addition is this, just ordered online.

Any SEB fans here too?

Perhaps you best find or your most prized vinyl to-date?

Hi Hi and good Saturday afternoon, Vinyl Record Lovers...

Well, I just got back from Retrocrates at Joo Chiat and I bought all these 4 LPs, which cost me a total of $199 today:

1.  Alanis Morissette - Flavors of Entanglement (Limited, GOLD)

2.  Belinda Carlisle GOLD - 2LP

3.  Post Malone PURPLE - Hollywood's Bleeding

4.  Twin Peaks, Fire Walk with Me OST (Re-issue 2017)

Among my collection, I have Madonna from her earlier years:

The First Album;

True Blue;

Like A Prayer;

Something to Remember;

Ray of Light; and

Confessions on a Dance Floor (Pink).

A couple other LPs from various artists like Barbra Streisand, Norah Jones, as well as classical stuff from Karajan and Jazz stuff...  : P

Hope everyone is still keeping and staying safe and well.

Take care and HugSZ!  HAPPY WEEKEND!  : ))

You are a Retrocrates lover? Me too! I love the service. Very knowledgeable and always helpful to help me order albums that are sold out.

Well, I love it cos Retrocrates is close to where I live.

However, I find that they sell some vinyls that a bit too expensive.

For instance, the Twin Peaks Fire Walk with Me was selling for $55 at Retrocrates, but I saw the same vinyl selling for just $35 elsewhere.

As well as Queen's Greatest Hits Vo. II was retailing for about $65 at Retrocrates, but the same vinyl was selling for $55.

So, be sure to look elsewhere and compare prices first before you decide to buy from Retrocrates!  : P

Yes some albums are more ex but I don’t have the time to search other shops and compare prices. As long as they have the album that I am looking for, I am fine with buying from them.

Now waiting for reorder of Erasure’s The Neon album and 2020 will be complete for me!

I hear ya, but half the fun is visiting the Vinyl shops for a good hunt and bargain.  So, that part I find enjoyable!  : P

You can always look online to see if other vinyl shops have your desired LPs :

The Analog Vault

Located on 2nd floor of The Esplanade, right in front of the escalators near the ATM Machines:

http://theanalogvault.com

It specializes in Jazz and Indie records, as well as Japanese Pop.

Hear Records at Burlington Square, beside SIM Lim Square has a great selection of Pop and Rock genre.

Another place is Retrophonic Records located at 53A Duxton Road, not far from the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown.  Their opening hours are a lot shorter, so be sure to check in on them:

http:/www.retrophonic.sg

Happy Hunting!  : )

Hi and good Sunday morning, Guys....

Just a quick "market survey" to see what audio equipment you have to play vinyl records at Home.

If you don't mind sharing, could you please let me know:

1.  Which Turntable + Amplifier + Speakers are you using.

2.  How long have you had each of those?

3.  Anyone upgrading any one of those 3 pieces of equipment anytime soon, cos 12.12 is approaching!

Thank you and have a wonderful day ahead...

Sorry for not responding earlier @SurpriseMEinHere,

my fair share is here as follows...  ",)

Adding to that, my turntable is about a year old,

whereas the sound system has been with me for more than 10 years already.

I'm not intending to replace any of them,

I mean why fix it when it's not broken right?

10.10, 11.11, 12.12 sales are indeed proven to be quite successful isn't it?

Hey hey...  Happy Saturday and thanks for the response.  Good to hear back from you again.

Great that you have a TT that's only a year old.  So, you don't use an amplifier to drive the sound from your TT to your Speakers?

Well, the marketing of it has been successful, but there are some deep discounts for select items one buys on such occasions.

I wonder what the rest of the Vinyl lovers gang have been up to these couple of weeks...

Anyway, enjoy your weekend and stay safe!   : ))

No I don't, I hooked my turntable up to my Sony Blu-ray player,

and this double up as both an amplifier and a CD-player.  ",)

OH wow, that sounds like a rather complicated / complicating set up.  I'm not audio/ technically inclined so I will probably be so confused as to which wire or cable goes where.   Waaaaaaaahahahahahaha...

It's actually much easier than you think,

I just plugged in the red & white cables into the SAT/Cable slot behind the player...

Perhaps EZ for you, but challenging to me, especially when there are so many components to connect to/ from!  : P

Happy New Year Vinyl Lovers!!

Yeh... it has been a really busy time the past couple of weeks and I didn't login here since.

I've decided not to buy any new LP's till I get my turntable repaired... guess that is my first

item on my things to do list in the new year!

My Hi-Fi system needs an upgrade as well,  gonna be reading up some reviews on what

would be the replacement that matches my component equipment.

So for now, I am just streaming audio from the internet.

Perhaps we could have a trip to the record shops sometime and chat over coffee.

Cheers, Mike

Hiya Mike,

It'd be great if the Vinyl Record Lovers group member would be keen to meet up and talk about music, records, and equipment and such.  I'm for it for sure!!!

I hope you'd get your TT fixed soon!

Take care.

Happy New Year everyone!

There's this Facebook Group for Vinyl Collector Aficionados called SG Vinyl Exchange,

is anybody here a member of this group?

@SurpriseMEinHere, go join the group too if you haven't,

in it, there's a recent discussion about getting a good turntable,

it's very informative and we can all learn a lot from it too!

Hey bro,

The trolley I've ordered just arrived, as my TT is made of marble.. and really heavy to lug around to the repair shop. Hopefully I'll get it done soon.

In the worst case, I would need to buy a new TT.

Cheers, Mike :)

Hey @SurpriseMEinHere, @mike_amk,

it's a good suggestion to check out this haunt together indeed.

Unfortunately, I can't make it this weekend as well...

Let's arrange another time when we all could gather together, shall we?

@hey_jen and other fellow vinyl record lovers, come join us too if you could,

just PM me if you're keen too!

Best on a weekend, when we have more time as the store closes pretty early @ 8pm on Weekdays and Saturdays.  Sunday, earlier at 5:30.

Can go browse browse first and have later afternoon tea or early dinner and chat about finds/ buys....

Looking forward to this!!!!  : P

Yeah man.  From the prices I've seen, Retrocrates are more expensive than Hear Records at Burlington Square and some other vinyl record shops at Adelphi.  I reckon it's their rental at Katong.

Even Retrophonic Records  on Duxton Road also not that expensive.  Curated Records on Tiong Bahru Road is also not bad, but the space is a bit small, so variety might not be as much.

I'm at Simply Live at Bukit Pasoh, in a lane that's opposite Shake Shack on Neil Road.

So, the store was opened just over a week ago and it sells predominantly used records.  They also have a handful of vinyls from Taiwan and I saw some of these here.

Nice space with a lil Cafe, but the selection is not much, but I was able to find some gems  from Linda Ronstadt and Barbra Streisand, and some stuff by Modern Talking.  Most of their used vinyls range between $20 and $30...

I usually get my new stuff from Roxy records

Is Roxy Records the same one as Roxy Disc House in Adelphi??

I've walked past that stop a few times.  I see more CDs from the shop window.  I feel that it looks dodgy for some strange reason lol

But, I've been to WOW Accoustics and another Vinyl Shop on the 4th Floor sells Mandarin/ Cantonese and current Pop titles...

Can't belive that the Cantonese LPs can sell as high as $130 and more!!!

Then i have the opportunity to know who the real original singer. Most of the time, i recognise by heart on her unique voice. I manage to buy her CD at bras berseh cd shop but except without that song.

So, I just visited CASH CONVERTERS at Tampines.  Was a dud lol. There were maybe less than 50 vinyl records and their condition is not something to be desired.

Also, I think the titles are not what we are looking old.  In all honesty, I feel like those were more like discards.  Don't waste your time here...
