petr55 Posted June 13, 2014 Report Share Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) You are better off taking the subway or walking while in ManhattanIt is difficult to drive in the city, and parking is very expensive and hard to find open lots during peak hours.If you are staying out of the city (say, Queens, Brooklyn) you can still take the subway in. Just get a metro pass. Make sure you visit Greenwich village.That's the primary gay area. It has its pluses and minuses.Plus:AMAZING discounts on shopping on Black Friday (Day after thanksgiving)MACY's Day Parade in Manhattan -- very festive parade, and marks the start of the Xmas shopping season. Cons:Lots of crowds on Black FridayLots of shops closed on Thanksgiving day (Thur) Oh, its going to be cold then too.Bring your winter jacket. Some are really good. I would say give the parade a miss. And for the thanksgiving sale, I found the best deals just before thanksgiving. Need to monitor the prices. Buy Abercombie and Fitch online for the best deals. Niagara Falls is good for a 1 night trip. Affordable hotel during winter. Get those with the falls view.
