PAUL WONG, 21

STUDENT

39399528471_dcd7aa5acd_o.jpg

Height: 1.65m

Weight: 62kg

Exercise Regimen: I train up to six days but at least three times a week. I push myself with a mixture of compound movements and bodyweight callisthenics. Basically it is a combination of bodybuilding style in the gym to sculpt my physique and strength training with callisthenics at the nearby fitness corner. I train about one hour and a half to two hours a session. I rotate my training with a full body-split routine to target different muscle groups.

Diet: I eat three or four standard meals in a day. I do not count my calorie intake unless I am preparing for a show or competition. I eat whatever I want but make sure the diet is high in protein and low in carbohydrates. I believe in a healthy diet.

JERRY FONG, 29

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

UsoPzrX.jpg

Height: 1.68m

Weight: 65kg

Exercise Regimen: I train almost every day, as my job scope involves working out too. I love keeping myself active and pushing past my limits with a wide range of sports/exercises. My main focus is resistance training and weightlifting (3-4 times a week). Being a spin cycling instructor and a MMA enthusiast as well, I also do spin cycling (3 times a week) and boxing (1-2 times a week).

Diet: In my five-year fitness journey, I have tried various diets ranging from ketogenic diet to IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros). The ketogenic diet is only during competitions and photo shoots. IIFYM is my diet plan and involves my daily intake of protein (approximately 120g of proteins) - usually eggs, fish and chicken. Also, I enjoy flexible dieting and often reward myself with sweet treats such as chocolates, ice creams and durians.

GERALD TAN, 33

LAWYER

PhBFK3W.jpg

Height: 1.66m

Weight: 60kg

Exercise Regimen: As my working days are often stretched and unpredictable, I hit the gym before work starts. I try to adhere to a 70:30 split between weight training and cardio. A weight training session typically involves 45-60 minutes of supersets with less than a minute of rest between sets, and involves one to two muscle groups. I indulge in kayaking from time to time, mountain biking, and rock-climbing with friends. I sometimes hit the pavement with my running gear and I also swim.

Diet: My diet is low-carb with a good dose of fat. From experience, this helps me optimise my energy release, regulate my body fat, and more importantly makes me feel energetic through the afternoons. Eggs, peanut butter and red meat are staples.

RAPHAEL SUN, 25

YOGA TEACHER

nUeor62.jpg

Height: 1.8m

Weight: 71kg

Exercise Regimen: I work out two to three times a day, short workouts of 15-20 minutes. I usually do whatever I feel like: yoga, martial arts, calisthenics, running and climbing trees, just moving my body constantly. I also teach three to four classes a day of yoga, muay thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Diet: I do intermittent fasting. So I have nothing but water for most of my day. I eat during a four-hour window - usually carbs and vegetables, lots of fruit too.

ANDREAS TOH 25

IT ENGINEER

m0rtUYT.jpg

Height: 1.68m

Weight: 60kg

Exercise Regimen: I do running intervals twice a week with a long run on weekends at MacRitchie Reservoir. Midweek, I have an hour-long gym session focusing on the upper body to improve my overall aesthetics as my usual training is mainly focused on the lower body. I include two cycling workouts if I have time.

Diet: I just started trying out overnight oats with fruits in a mason jar. I prepare it every night and bring it to work for breakfast. My lunch and dinner usually include carbohydrates, chicken and lots of vegetables. My guilty pleasures include Maggi goreng, fries and rosti. I try to avoid fried food and sugary drinks. Fast-food chains try to lure me to the dark side but I seldom succumb.

Lek Hui Meng, 23

Student

IyV9XaO.jpg

Height: 1.69m

Weight: 84kg

Exercise Regimen: I train at the gym four to five times a week. My training split is as such: back on Monday, chest and shoulders on Tuesday, legs on Thursday, a filer workout on Friday and arms on Saturday. I do minimal to no cardio because my workouts are high-intensity and I sweat buckets.

Diet: I count my macros and track what I eat. I vary the amount depending on my performance in training and how I look. During the off-season, I will usually eat beef and chicken breasts. I keep my diet to about 70 per cent clean and three to four cheat meals a week. When I'm in the season of leaning out, I will change my protein source to just fist. I do believe in taking supplements such as protein shakes, but eating real food is the way to go if you want to achieve a great physique.
