I meal prepped a week's worth of lunches (5 meals for work days) but found that I got sick of the taste by Thursday. These days, I meal prep for only 2-3 days.

Do you guys meal prep? Share your successes or failures!

Is it alright to cook those meats / seafood and leave it in the fridge for 5 days?

I used to be bulky (with high fat percentage) eating whatever I want without counting my macros. Big mistake though I do miss the "buff" look LOL

Since November last year, been dieting hard (lost 6-7kg! in two months) and now trying to  lean bulk. I  prep my meals every day. Not that difficult, just IIFYM. Can't wait to see the thicker me in a few months time :P

Same here. But having the same food for consecutive days is not an issue with me.

I always meal prep because I am quite compulsively obsessed with making bentos.

Some days I do boiling and some days I pack sandwiches.

It's quite a good way to spend your time if you have no idea what to do after work on weekdays. (save money too)

What I did back when I was cooking for 5 days is to freeze three portions and put two in the fridge. The frozen ones, I take it out from the freezer the night before and put it into the fridge. It's generally safe as long as you reheat your food to kill any bacteria growth though chicken breast tends to be tough after being microwaved.

Used to do that, but I don't do that now cause there's no fridge for me at my hall. If I get one, I wouldn't have much space left to move. Just head out to eat clean.

U have no fridge in your place?

R u in sg?

Didn't I mentioned the word "hall"? yes I live in SG but the hall that i reside in school doesn't have much space for me to get a fridge. If I could have a fridge, I would...

My bad.

I confuse hall as living room at home.

Of course it's "your bad". Since when people would place a fridge in the "hall" (aka living room) eh?

Haha.   :P

Ok, we're out of topic...

Anyway, like azimuth, I don't meal-prep (time constraint) as well and selects more vegetables with lean/white meat when eating outside.

Of course, once in a while, I would indulge in something "sinful"... Haha.

To save time, what I did previously was to cook my dinner while doing my work. I would just chuck the chicken breast, eggs, veggies and what not in the steamer and just let it do its work. So my dinner previously was just chicken with seaweed wrap.

It looks easy, will try it out soon, thanks, haha.

I do stews, cook a big pot and portion it over two days. The flavours get more complex after resting overnight, taste better.

Cooking ahead 2-3 days ahead can get a food vacuum sealer.

I don't really like to let my food to be left overnight, even if I place them in the fridge. Hence, if I prepare large portions, I would usually just prepare my lunch and dinner together to be consumed on that day itself.

For me, soup is the easiest. I will throw in some sweet potatoes, carrots and sliced chicken/pork to make soup. These days, I would just eat outside though, just try to find healthy options.

Easy to cook and nice-tasting vegetables

French Beans sauteed with garlic and black pepper

1) heat a little bit of olive oil in a pan

2) add some sliced garlic ( I like about 2 cloves) and sauteed in the olive oil. when garlic is about to brown and aroma is coming out, add in french beans/ snow peas or sweet peas.

3) stir-fry the beans until glossy and slightly cooked but still crunchy. You can add in sliced button mushrooms too if you like.

4) Season with small pinch of salt and a good dash of freshly ground pepper to taste.

As I'm not gunning for competition standard, just being selective with bought meals seems sufficient. There are also a lot of places to eat clean around CBD. Think of the time you'll save for doing other stuff.

True, but I find cooking, even light cooking therapeutic.

You must have a helper who does the washing up, lol! I like the masak-masak part of cooking also, but when I see the pile of utensils to be washed, can faint.

Btw, a new Paleo-style deli opened at China Square food court - I have no shares hor.

Nope, its just me myself and I. The washing is just putting the OCD part of me to work.

If only I had space for a dishwashing machine. But I suppose if one is cooking to eat clean, usually there is not much mess.

Last night I went for late night shopping to stock up my weeks worth of food to meal prep... Salmon, chicken, beef etc.

i woke up earlier to find the bags of groceries left at the living room...

Bye bye $100 worth of food. Hurts to see the food down the chute. :(

Oh no. Sorry to hear that. It is also sad to see that the animal died in vain. :(
