Hi guys! I only just came to learn about your mini-series and I'm sure it must have taken the community by storm. So I'm a little puzzled by the lack of buzz on this forum. Perhaps in the early days, you had to register to watch with a password, which isn't necessary any more.

Anyway, having binge-watched the entire first season on YouTube, I was really impressed by the great production values and acting by an immensely likeable cast of characters. At first, I was wondering how on earth you were able to find so many young and talented people willing to out themselves in a project like this. But an actor friend who knows some of the cast says that you used alot of straight talent. What's important is that they were believable in their roles.

Except for some of the volunteers at the end of each episode. I recognise that they do good work, and are a cheery and supportive bunch with an important message to disseminate. But whether put on or not, I found their camp "Ris Low" personas and raunchy innuendoes much more shocking and distasteful than any simulated sex scene in the videos themselves. Apart from that HIV+ guy. He's adorable.

But let's come back to the series proper. I enjoyed the evocative vignettes depicting classic episodes taken from the Singapore gay scene. It reminded me of a British and American series called "Queer as Folk" - particularly the latter adaptation, which had a more attractive cast. The subtitles were also a nice touch, as I could turn the volume down and watch most of it while commuting in public. This would also help the series spread beyond our shores, where people may be confused by the use of Singlish.

As I am on the cusp of leaving my 30s, but still find myself an absolute innocent on the scene, I identified the most with Ridzuan (albeit a less moody, straight acting, discreet, strictly NSA fun only, pure top) and Issac (the hot, late blooming buff dad, who sees his shelf life expiring and is living life to the fullest to make up for lost time).

While not as overtly multicutural as a Benetton ad - I had no idea Ridzuan was Malay till maybe episode 2 or 3 - I like that there was diversity in the main cast. I feel so bad that Rai felt the need to explain that he was Indian over Grindr texts, even after sending over a face pic at the start of the conversation. It reminded me alot of my younger self when I was in the UK, when as a precaution, I would send guys similar texts like: "I'm Asian, btw. Specifically Chinese Singaporean. Are you okay with that?" Better an online rejection than a face to face one.

Upon reflection, you guys did well to avoid stereotypes out of central casting. While Joel seemed potentially racist for being so blithe with Rai, he falls hard for Ridzuan. While Issac pops viagra and hands out recreational drugs at private orgies, he's the only character not to have a sex scene throughout the series and turns out to be a great "daddy" for Rai. While the socially awkward volunteers at the end seemed to be reading from a heavily scripted teleprompter, they can still shock you by pulling out an XXL Dildo!

All in all, I really like the way Gayhealth.sg has overhauled its approach to engaging with MSM. I would very much like to see a second, third or fourth season. You don't have to pick up where these characters left off, but I would like more insights into the various gay sub cultures and see how nonhomogeneous homosexuals can be.
