I've been struggling with 15% body fat for almost a year. I've eaten right and exercised hard. I'm proud of my body except my midsection. I can't seem to move my body fat down to 10-11%, which I believe will rid me of the love handles. I recently came into some cash, so I'm thinking of some non-invasive day surgery procedure but there are so many in the market. I'm thinking Liposonix, which is a one treatment procedure. Any of you bros got any good feedback on any?

According to a fitness guru, if your current body fat is half your genetic body fat, it is quite a good job already.

Don't need to test - sure endomorph. I think I've made the most of what nature gave me (which is not much). I'm not even seeking a large shoulder to waist ratio, just want my core muscles to have some visibility. So man-made solutions seem to be the right option then. But which one?

Define "eaten right and exercised hard". How often do you exercise, what type of activity do you do, etc, and for meals, what do you eat, typical daily caloric intake, etc? Its been well studied that most people always think they do a lot and eat well, but they always tend to "balloon" their figures or effort. Not saying that you are lazy, just wanting to clarify what you have done. And lastly, how old are you? Because as you age, metabolism changes, so do not expect that low of a fat percentage, unless you really lead a life of an athlete.

So how does one determine the "genetic body fat" then? Quite curious...because its impossible to determine the genetic body fat percentage when any measurements at any point in time is a reflection of constraints held by the body with respect to nutrients and physical activity level.

Age: 41

Height: 6'

Weight: 78kg

Waist: 32"

Regime: 3-4 times per week, 90min sessions in gym doing intense 15min cardio followed by moderate weight high reps, no more than 1 min between sets. At least two sessions per week on upper body and another two on lower. Last 15 mins of stretching or body weight exercises. The one thing I haven't tried is Cardio Accelerate, but I already do high reps. I think Cardio Acceleration will knock me out.

On non-gym days, any one of 3km run, 1km swim, 60min ashtanga yoga or playing basketball.

Diet: On gym days, 2,500-3,000 kcal, comprising P:F:C of 4:3:3. On non-gym days, 1,700-2000kcal, P:F:C of 5:3:2, except cheat day.

Other than protein shakes, I eat clean - as in no gravy. Mostly just salt, pepper and spices. I don't take any metabolism enhancement supplements because I don't like the idea of them.

No alcohol. But one cheat day on the weekend when I eat any local hawker fare.

So I would say I work pretty hard and eat clean.

My friend...you are 41 years old. For your age and achieving this, its really good already. One has to age gracefully...I acknowledge your efforts in adhering to such strict dietary and fitness regime. You are really fit for people at your age group given the kind of activities you do.

There's a Chinese saying though - 一山还有一山高. I see loads of clearly over 40 guys in my gym who are ripped. Mostly angmo though. Could be the genes, dunno? That's why I'm thinking of cheating a little with some aesthetic procedure.

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement though, much appreciated! Maybe I should be like 傅园慧, use 洪荒之力! Ok, tomorrow I start trying Cardio Acceleration!

Your case reminds me of the CEO who died from liposuction. He already had a good figure yet he's not satisfied.

Actually if you really want it, it's very simple. Just go on a hunger diet instead of watching your calories. Don't eat until you feel more than just hunger enough that even plain food taste good. Then eat only 70% full. But be prepared to lose muscles as well. What's left well be very lean and ripped muscles. When you treat yourself on good foods, follow the French ladies way, eat or order only half that of a standard plate.

Don't want to look like a PoW leh. Must have decent muscles. As it is, I'm not blessed with narrow hips, so maintaining upper body musculature is important.

As for the procedure, it's about going to a properly trained specialist, not one of these GP-turned-aethestics types. But I just tried Cardio Acceleration today and survived. Will try another 4 weeks before exploring procedures again. Thanks all for input anyway.

And they are all your age group? If they are your age group and they are ripped, then its really not the norm. But for someone who is in your age group and asian, be really satisfied. Yes, it is possible that genes play a role.

Maybe you should just accept your own body. Some of it comes down to genes. :)

I am 42, 181cm, and I weigh 95kg. Waist 33/34. I don't have a perfect 6 pack. Usually about 4 on a good day.

At the end of it, you just need to ask yourself if the procedure will make you happier. If it does, then by all means go for it. If it does not make much difference, then save or spend that money on something else.

Love.

Shut up.. I used to be 60kg (175cm) with no chest muscles(flat tummy). So I went on a weight gainer products for 4mths and some intense chest exercise. Now I'm 68kg. Chest grown a tiny little bit but tummy became so huge now. I'm at least 30% body fats. So u better don't complain.

Add on, I've been going on diets since this march but... no changes to me.
