Guest Help :p
Hi guys! So i've been wanting to play the newer generations of pokemon for awhile now but I didn't have the time(last I played was black2 xD) and I decided to purchase a preowned new 3DSXL to start. What are some of the considerations I have to take into account considering that it is preowned? He is selling it at about $250 and is including some other games other than pokemon X and alpha sapphire and it seems to be in pretty good condition in photos. However, he also mentioned that it is jailbroken...so is that a nono? OH and what other games sld I play on the 3DS? Any reccomendations? HAHAHA i'm so excited and thanks for reading through
micrhoid
If you don't exactly know what you're doing with a jailbroken 3DSXL, it's best not to tamper with it and just simply play games with it normally, since $250 with the 3DSXL is a fucking steal. Pokemon X and Alpha Sapphire is already kinda outdated, prior to their Pokemon giveaways ended near end of this year.
Dorkable
$250 for a preowned New 3DS XL is not a steal. You have to consider these facts: 1) Is it a local set or a Japanese set? Japanese set can only play Jap titles and has other region related issues online. 2) Is it still under local warranty by Maxsoft? Does it come with shop receipt that states the date of purchase? 3) Any scratches to the dual screens? 4) Any dents or cosmetic damage to the body and buttons? 5) "Jailbreaking" the console will directly void your local warranty if any. It grants you access to the online illegal shop which lets you download games for free. A brand new New 2DS XL is going for only $229 locally: 1) http://www.qisahn.com/products/new-nintendo-2ds-xl-console 2) https://www.qoo10.sg/item/NINTENDO-NEW-2DS-XL/562843255?selectedOptions= (same shop, but you can apply the ongoing Christmas $25 discount coupon by Qoo10 to make it $224). 3) https://www.qoo10.sg/item/NINTENDO-NEW-NINTENDO-2DS-XL-HOLIDAY-BUNDLED-CHARGING-CABLE-INCLUDED-W/431512686 (different shop, but it comes with Pokemon Ultra game and becomes $275 after applying the same Qoo10 discount coupon). Just my two cents worth. Edited December 24, 2017 by Dorkable

Just my two cents worth. I highly doubt it is Japanese set cause that would be expensive despite it being preowned. Japanese sets tend to be a little bit, if not, more expensive due to imports. Warranty is already voided however due to jailbreak. Scratches and cosmetic damages should be considered as Dorkable mentioned, but if it's still playable, I don't see why not. However, you need to check on the buttons and calibrations before consideration. If repair is still required, then genuinely speaking, it's just as close as getting a new one. If everything goes well tho, then you got yourself a steal lol
