Duration: 8 March 16:30 - 9 March 02:10 2. Reasons: I. Fell Behind Hosting Payment a. We fell behind our Payment at our Hosting ISP. b. The ISP shutdown our Hosting Account abruptly as it was NOT our first late late payment. Our fault :-( c. We raised cash to pay the late bills and the Hosting ISP re-enabled our BW hosting service. d. BW is non-commercial and the site don't have regular income to pay the bills. II. Database was corrupted e. As the Hosting Account was abruptly disrupted, our database was NOT properly shutdown. It resulted in some database corruption. III. Actions Taken f. The BW Admin noted the problem. However we could only work on the "Database Recovery" after our day job. g. Database Recovery is completed. We have done some testing of the system and believe the BW forum is "generally" OK. h. Still working on the "BW Chat Room". 3. Our apologies. However the Mod's current preference is still to "earn" through the banner ads. 3. I know that it’s in your policies to not accept donations and run it purely on business, but are there reasons for not considering donations? Policies can change because of situations changing as well, and I think some of us would love to help in anyway we can, even if it’s $1. Wikipedia by by itself is non-profit, and we use it a lot for information. Surely we do not want to get into the same routine as the breakdowns in our transport problems here in Singapore. It is time to reconsider whether we can turn this board into a subscription one. Yes I understand you "rejected" the idea many times already but it is now time to work on the financial situation. Like many frequent contributors/readers, I want to show my appreciation for the diligence put up by the team. When you have a core group of patrons and a steady income, you can look beyond current provisions and plan forward. A minor issue with the proliferation of unregistered guests opening threads as and when they fancy can be curtailed.
