SportsMassageTherapy
Dear Members, I have relocated my sports massage service from Bartley to Jln Batu @ Mountbatten. I have years of experience in treating various muscle injuries and soreness using an array of massage techniques including Myofascial Release, which is my area of specialisation. If you are facing neck, shoulders, arms, back, hip or legs problems due to workout or long hours of office work, Myofascial Release is your best choice of remedy. The pressure of the massage is usually medium which could be adjusted accordingly. The current rate is $100 per hour and I provide in-call service only. As I am not trained in sensual or balinese style of massage, do visit other therapists for better alternatives. Please feel free to visit my website musclerr.com for more information. SportsMassageTherapy
I have received a few queries about my sports massage service and would like to clarify some of the misconceptions. 1) Q: I am not a sports person but could I receive sports massage? A: Most of my clients are regular office workers who may or not engage in sports activities. 2) Q: How is sports massage different from regular massage or Tuina? A: Sports massage is similar to deep tissue massage which targets deeper muscles and yields better results than conventional massage. I have treated various conditions like stiff neck, shoulders, arms, lower back, tight hamstrings, calves and quads with satisfactory results. Tuina and Sports massage are quite similar too but the massage techniques are very different. 3) Q: Why should I receive sports massage? A: I have seen too many cases where stiff muscles cause all sorts of problems like trouble sleeping, weakness in strength and discomfort while sitting, standing or moving. 4) Q: How often should I receive sports massage? A: My clients usually come back at least once a month as the lack of stretching, foam rolling, proper exercise and bad posture cause the muscles to degenerate and lock tight which give rise to various problems. 5) Q: Is sports massage painful? A: I am not going to lie as you will experience some discomfort during the session when I massage the deeper muscles which are locked tight over the years. Most of the massages do not go deep enough to fully release the tightness which causes the tugging effect. I have seen so many clients, who suffer lower back problems, usually have tight legs. The conventional way of treating or massaging just the lower back is not going to resolve the problem as the leg muscles affect the hip which in turn affects the lower back. This is where Myofascial massage comes in which focus on the working mechanism of the muscle system in the body. Feel free to post any questions here and I will do my best to answer all of them. Thanks! Edited October 18, 2020 by SportsMassageTherapy Alignment issue Gozu, fourth, Mssg-exchange and 1 other 3

nuclearbunny
Posting a quick review because I had a really good experience with Jason! Made an appointment as had been experiencing some muscle strain in my lower back which was affecting my workout routine. Jason did a quick assessment prior to the massage to identify some problem spots before commencing the sports massage. True to his posts, Jason's massage is extremely targeted - in my case, he worked exclusively on my calves, thighs and glutes to release the knots and tension in my problem area. His massage is NOT intended to be a relaxing session but isn't overwhelmingly painful either. At the end of the session he provided some tips and led some movements to check on the problem areas. Have since been to him a second time - highly recommend for people looking for a professional, targeted massage, gym and non-gym goers alike! SportsMassageTherapy
Hi Everyone, In case you are wondering if you should book holistic massage or sports massage, just remember if you want a general relaxation, holistic massage is the choice. SportsMassageTherapy
Hi Everyone, If you suffer neck, shoulder or lower pain ache from sitting too long by working in front of computer, sports massage (Myofascial Release) could help you by releasing the correct muscles. Foam rolling on the back muscles may feel good but it does not address the root cause of the problems. Take care! Regards, Jason

neuwave
Went to Jason yesterday. Just want to say that Jason did a fantastic job on releasing the knots/tightness I've had on my upper body. Sports myofascial massage ain't for everyone and yes it hurts but the relief after that was just wow. Jason will also guide you on basic foam roller movements for you to work on your free time. Thanks Jason, and see you again next month. Cheers. ZackyBoi

Initially, I wanted to go but when I saw that ART test is needed on the booking page, I changed my mind. Hi 5eperator, ART is compulsory to protect the safety of myself and my clients too. It has to be done within one week before the appointment date. Few reasons why so: 1) Most people who went back to workplace need to do ART weekly as their companies require them to do so. Even hawkers need to do so. 2) Before the ART implementation, I had a health scare when one of my clients texted me that he contracted Covid one day after the massage. I tested myself for the next 3 days and was negative. Imagine I have contracted from him and infected you as the next client. 3) ART test is painless, affordable and quick. May I know what is your reason for not doing so? 4) Some of my clients assumed having booster shots means no risk of infection. WRONG! You will still have a chance of being infected but with less severity. The list goes on and on. It is our social responsibility to stop the spreading of infection. My job is not only doing massage but to educate the importance of self testing to my clients. TiredAlways and neuwave
SportsMassageTherapy
They are many people who suffered from shoulders, neck and back stiffness but brushed them off as wrong sleeping positions or bad postures. These tensions will always be there and lead to more serious conditions if they are not being treated properly. The usual method of using the massage gun, massage ball or having some guys to knead or massage those local areas will bring temporary relief only as most of the time, the rest of the tight muscles will pull them back to tension. The key to any successful release is identifying the correct muscles which are pulling the weaker muscles like neck and back muscles. As I released each part of my clients muscles, I will always ask my clients to give me feedback and let them feel the connections between different parts of the muscles. If you are looking for a true release of muscles, feel free to find me and I will explain more in details so that you can self manage and take care of your body, especially so when we are getting older as our muscles degenerate over time. Thank you. Edited November 25, 2021 by SportsMassageTherapy

SportsMassageTherapy
Debunking the myth of lower back problem I need to rectify the common misconception when patients or even medical professionals often refer the lower back pain as lower back problem. They are not the same. Lower back pain is usually caused by leg muscles pulling the hip out of position which in turn caused the lower lumbar to compress onto the nerves. Of course, this will lead to slip disc or disc herniation if left untreated. Thus, lower back pain is the leg muscles problem. Sadly, countless therapists kept massaging the lower back muscles or readjusting the alignment of the lumbar vertebrates with disappointing results. All these are just temporary release as the leg muscles will ultimately put the lower back into tension again. How to release the leg muscles? I will post more of that in the future. SportsMassageTherapy
Dear Friends, With the easing of Covid rules and decreasing number of cases, I am pleased to announce there's no need for ART in making your future appointment. However, I will still take my ART weekly as a precautionary measure. If you do need me to take ART on the day of your appointment, there will be an additional charge of $5. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Jason
