iwannac
Fantastic but they're not merging these gyms under same brand. So, really, for us gym go-ers, it's not a good thing. This means commercial gyms don't have competition and can get away with sub par quality since we don't have much choice, unless we go to local gyms. The ones in Junction 10 and City Square Mall had been rebranded as Fitness First gyms. If you are a Passport member, you will be able to access all the clubs. jdu
the idea of having all under the same umbrella under the Merger and Acquisition is from the business point of view a buyout or take over attempt for business synergy. When they did their press release back then, no mention of re-branding. it only means that members could potentially cross over brands - with fees to be paid to cross over. But not too sure what is the long-term impact as they generally don't do an upfront collection of gym memberships - which means if they close, members are not really affected. FF used to be under two main shareholding - but has since been divested - split between various regions around the world under a different franchise. Which means lesser perks to sign up if you intend to use it globally. As per the summary of the re-branding in Asia. Evolution Wellness Holdings Pte. Ltd. (“Evolution Wellness”) will have increased scale and reach, with an unrivalled network of 152 wholly-owned fitness clubs across Asia and revenues c. US$295 million Brings together two of the most experienced management teams in the Asian health and fitness industry, with a combined staff strength of 7,000 and serving 400,000 members Complementary service offerings, geographical footprint and business models position Evolution Wellness for success, as well as operational and cost optimisation post-integration Backed by strong financial sponsors, Navis Capital Partners (“Navis”) and funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. (“Oaktree”), to capture growth potential and further advance ambitions in the fast-growing Asian health and fitness industry Quote Life is like a river flowing into the sea, Love Life.
