mith Posted September 11, 2021 Report Share Posted September 11, 2021 just watched HEAR U OUT on mewatch... the ZZT episode. i had always been watching ZZT since SS... my impression of him then was, still is now, a kampung boy being thrown into the big league. he is a little different from many of the contestants than who's already have huge social media followings before their SS. anyhow ZZT was the boy next door i pick to follow his career... so far slow and steady, a few mid-size roles here and there... as a newbie, he's has yet know how to control and manipulate his emotions on screen (a skill necessary for any actor who with time and experience is very possible to master). however at this stage, of any artistes, when the emotion is still raw and real, is very endearing and likable. often enough, many veteran actors will lose this aspect of themselves after years and years in the business. not saying its a bad thing, its just the natural path/development for any artistes. see ZZT here... i felt for him. and i understand this particular surprise moment. like most common everyday people, we dont emote, perhaps except expressing anger (shouting, fighting etc), i cried and teared when the doctor said my dad had only 4 months left after late stage cancer diagnosis. mine is shocked than teared. ZZT here is surprise than tear. different scenario but same emotion. i said give the newbie ZZT a chance and see if he amount to anything. i have nothing against the veterans, but we all need some young, potentially good and decent actor on our screen NOW. Zeng Xiao Qing is realy very 普普通通, or bad at worst. she looks way too old for those mei mei roles, which made her debut performance in "Super Dad" difficult to swallow. her acting is also too over-the-top, with every emotions squeeze in every facial expression, something more suitable for theatre acting than tv. she did better in "Star Bride" when the role is closer to her real age. but then, such roles is not that difficult to act well by other actresses like hyy or bonnie. her height is her greatest disadvantage, she is also too short for lead roles. actually i am more impressed by Herman for his performance in "Mind Jumper". he is not good-looking, so he has a niche in roles that dont fit other dudes. christopher lee was right in guiding him to be the next xie shaoguan. Tyler needs meatier roles to evaluate further. think he is acting opposite romeo in a new drama on MMA. the rest are really just cameos.
