How often do you tell the truth

Im the kind of person that generally likes to drink and hence i do meet up with quite a few people from the App for a chill drink at the bar. Generally each time we go, the conversation is pretty much the same old topic but i'm the kind that do like to listen to other people's stories. Generally boys talk like work, general topics, porn habits, sexual stuff, u know the typical boys talk.

It has recently been brought to my attention that there are quite a few out there might be lying ? I've met up with quite a few and most of the the time i asked them a question they will have a reply. But as the conversation goes, it usually followed by the other person telling me whoah u seem like a very honest guy can i be honest i was lying about this or that (usually age, status or whatsoever). Pretty sure guys wont lie about their porn habbits or whatsoever, at most they are merely just exaggerating.

My question is, how often do u think people lie about these kinda stuff? Am i just the naive one telling the truth all these while or lying is generally part of the culture here.

Like how stories and movies are peppered into piquing the interest of the listener / viewer, yes people do lie or exaggerate in conversations

Most if not all want to hear about something mundane

To keep the listener hooked on listening, a dash of exaggeration should be added to detail

It's an art

"Gays are like Onions, we have layers"

Joke aside, I think it is just a facade that people puts up to protect themselves. Like in the event you hang with some weirdo and a control freak, at least you could bail and protect yourself because the other person don't know much about you. Only drop the truth bomb about yourself when you know that the person is kinda sane and not a pain in the ass.

If not, just try to read their body language and take everything with a pinch of salt.

LOL!  How often do I tell the truth?  Hopefully more often than I lie.

Take it from an old man:  the world is full of deceptions and lies.

It's amazing how strongly this realization comes with the years.

There are so many different types of lies!  An exaggeration is also... a lie.

If I am not being sued until my pants drop, I will defintely tell the truth even if it hurts the listeners.

Are you sure about this?  In your world The Truth stands on a golden high pedestal?

or is truth a substance that keeps our minds healthy, free of the stress some lying may bring?

If we throw around this "substance" indiscriminately, it can have damaging effects on others.

It can be like letting loose a harmful gas.  Why you want to hurt the listeners?

Should we have the responsibility to confront everybody with their or our truths?

At least, you haven't come to BELIEVE you tell the TRUTH, ALL THE TIME.

LET'S GIVE OURSELVES A BREAK, (CUT OURSELVES SOME SLACK?).

Lying is too much effort.

I'm a lazy person, so I'm used to telling the truth, about 99% of the time.

So, I like to believe that I DO tell the truth, 99% of the time.

Except for instances like, when people/family/colleagues ask, "Hey, you're such an eligible bachelor! Why are you still single?!"

You can reach 100%

next time just say, “I m single because I am ‘happy’.”

theatrically speaking you are not lying just expressing in a different form.

Everyone lies to a certain extent, but I find the way gay guys lie is interesting:

1. Guy offers to give me free massage in the sauna room but end up fucking my ass.

2. Guy offers his home gym to workout together and save on sweaty clothing by gymming topless, but end up he rams my ass.

3. Guy is a nice guy to hang out with until he touches/rubs your butt.

4. Friend's bf seems to be nice to you until he molests you in private.

Guest About Lying

I feel this may just be a habit for life in general. Someone chooses to lie probably because he or she feels insecure about himself or herself, the other person or the situation he or she is in. Insecure because of lower confidence, a heightened expectation or just not ready to accept the reaction if the truth is told. In any case, the truth will still have to reveal itself one day... Don't lie too often...
