Guest Referral
Is it okay to see a GP and ask only for referral letter to see specialist? I have with me blood test report. I need to follow up with a specialist doctor. But in order to claim insurance later, I have to get a fresh referral letter. I checked online and on general I can do that but did anyone do that before?
Guest Guest
I also heard that it can be done subjected to two caveats: it must be with a certain number of months before you get hospitalized, and the blood test must be relevant to the reason why you got hospitalized. Unless your insurance is going to pay 100% of all your bills (and this type of 100%-payment hospitalization insurance which requires you to be hospitalized is getting rarer and rarer since the government is encouraging medical bills co-payment), does it make sense for you to pay for the co-payment part of the specialist fee on top of all that you have already paid for, instead of sticking to just whatever that you have already paid for? Just tell them you need this letter to claim insurance.
Guest Referral
18 hours ago, Since u r here said: there are more than 1 qn wrapped in this thread ~See GP*/polyclinic first and then get referred to specialist - will help to lower your cost if u r aiming to go for B2 and below class of ward/services cos for your health (GHS) insur, we dont knw which class of ward it is covered (not pte GP) ~ only can claim if u r hosp: a cheapo Income insur (for b1 and below) only cover for up to 3mths (before and after hospitalisation/surg) if not, normal outpatient (be it pte or govt structured etc) cannot be claimed as this is not claiming from CO. GE can claim up to 180days or 360 depending on the situation, hence u ought to be checking with your Insurance co. Thanks for the info. I need to go for Mri scan to check on my liver condition. Previously went for ultrasound scan and got 1 spot in my liver. Doctor suspected haemangioma, a clump of blood vessel. But for more than a year and 2 annual blood test, my liver enzyme still very high. Cannot procrastinate anymore.
