Bah...  reproduction is only one minor function in today's life where there is so much overpopulation. 

And fulfilled or unfulfilled should make little difference if gay, straight, male, female. 

Is a gay unfulfilled if he has no partner, no boyfriend?  Same thing.

Today's life can be filled with so many interesting things that we don't need to be depressed by the lack of a child or a lover.

Why is having a child even fulfilling? They are more of a commitment and hassle. Save yourself all the pain and suffering.

Definitely not. 

1. No environm damage by global overpopulation

2. No risk of child growing unbalanced to harm society

3. No risk of abandoning ageing parents to unmarried siblings

Fulfillment comes in many forms. I may not have a biological child of my own, but I am fulfilled by my nephews and being their guncle. Also I have dog, so he is like a child that never grows up.

The society has an obsession with spreading your (man) seeds far and beyond. I'm not really sure why that is the case. But no, I don't see having kids, even for a gay man to be the end all be all. 

 

As we mature and grow as a society, people are beginning to ditch the conventions surrounding childbirth and are beginning to realize one does not simply bring a life into this world without properly ascertaining if they have the right resources to do so. There's a reason why childbirth has declined worldwide in developing and developed countries. People realize the onus of having a child, and they're not just something for you to brag about and expect them to take care of you once you've grown old.
