How/Why does BW blocking people to access the site?

Why BW let people who doesn’t sign in to post or comment a thread… yet they block the one who could sign in?

currently they block my wifi access, and luckily my mobile data can access, and I quickly post this…

Randomly they block my access, I’m a logged in user… and they suppose to allow me in… but not based on my IP? I’m accessing from a fixed IP sometimes, cos this is how it is they set up our internet access.

But allowing someone cowardly start a thread and potentially start a controversial thread without log in is allowed?

How can they make sure an honest user here to access the site not some other people trying to come in with a bad intention?

I know they prolly did that for some purpose… but why not make the site totally members log in only… or even properly verified… should they want keep some people’s wives out side?

No one seems to response to this… feel like I am raising a taboo subject here.

Need to clarify on this… the situation happen not only my wifi… it can be any connection… wifi or mobile data. It happened randomly on any connection.

Trying reaching the admins or see if anyone else here is tech savvy enough to explain the workings of shared hosting websites?

It's not a taboo topic but rather a technical one which most of us just don't know the knowledge to discuss further.

Let me try to address some points?

Like the log in right, it's after the IP address is allowed to the website - which means if a Guest user is in your shoes, he/she would not be able to post as a Guest also since he/she will not be able to access the website too.

The admins are not full-time here (and not paid), so don't expect like the 50-cents army to moderate content as efficiently or like HWZ to get ntuc points. :D gosh... what have i become'd.

As for the randomness, it's not random. Telco have different set of IPs depending on where you are connected to. The next time you can/cannot work, do a google on whatismyipaddress and you can see which ranges work, which doesn't. I never had issues all the while likely cos i'm with the 2 main telcos thus far, they tend to be better at keeping their IP information accurate so (website) providers is better able to identify and allow them in.

The company i worked in moved out of the 2 main telcos and now our internet traffic is seeing us as a US user, then all the local radio stations cant be streamed as they don't see us as a SG user. We also own our own fixed IP and sometimes google landing page says we are from Indonesia or Hong Kong and gives us non-english results.

The only conspiracy theory I might have is that due to the nature of the forum - which topics are banned in our lovely island, they restrict outside influence (IP) from accessing it - far fetched though.
