Does it make sense to cancel home boardband to save the subscription fee and use mobile data? I WFH 4 days a week.

My mobile plan has 65GB per month. Definitely more than enough but not sure if my phone batt can take it?

I was thinking to do that too. But I think Home BB speed is faster than Mobile Data. To save cost... maybe can try Simba Home BB?

Yeah, I want to know about SIMBA too.

DO NOT switch to GOMO. It has a lot of steps and need to go back and forth with the telco Helpdesk multiple times.

It is a subset Singtel telco but no thanks. Although it's cheap. But service cmi. Sorry.

Will you be my valentine's? :D

I tried Simba for a month and then cancelled it due to bad reception. During registration at the shop the reception was good but when I brought it back to my flat on the 20th floor the reception was very weak.

I used my phone as a hotspot. I could only get reception when I placed the phone at one corner of my bedroom next to the exterior wall.

My original intention was to replace my home broadband. It was OK when it worked. Speed was good enough for surfing, working on laptop, watching YouTube on my smart TV etc. However when I streamed movies on my media box it lagged a bit.

In the end I couldn't be bothered and went back to home broadband. It was easy to cancel Simba online.

The good thing was that during the last week I travelled to a neighbouring Asian country and managed to use the 12GB international roaming data lol. It was a godsend.

If you're from a low income household, you can get subsidised broadband access from IMDA’s DigitalAccess@Home. My friend pays $15/month for 1Gbps. Really worth it. The provider is M1. Speed is fast and stable.

I have switched to Simba as my main line for over 3 years now. They have expanded their coverage over the years. Reception is good all around. At my home, I get 5G reception so it's faster. Overall very happy with the service.

Their mobile plans are incredibly great value for money. Not only do you get lots of data, their plans include roaming data to over 60 countries as well. I would think that their roaming network reception is even better than their Singapore network since they are piggybacking on the foreign countries' local telcos. I have used their roaming while overseas. It is seamless.

The thing about Simba I really like and which differs from the other telco is receiving/making voice calls while overseas. I was on Singtel previously and they will charge you for receiving calls while overseas and charge you even more when you make calls while overseas. With Simba, there is no extra charge at all. It's part of your talktime.

One big caveat about Simba is that their voice calls are actually through data channel instead of voice channel, VoLTE (Voice over Long Term Evolution). So you need to ensure that your device supports this. Otherwise, you cannot make or receive voice calls when using Simba line. One alternative is to use the Simba app to make voice calls, but I have tried it and it is not so user friendly.

Subscribed to SIMBA 5G plan in July last year but my phone showed '4G' on the top right side so I emailed the customer service staff. They didn't address my issue directly and just gave a template reply. Disappointed, switched to GOMO 4G plan instead in September and remain a subscriber since then.

Yesterday I was offered free 1 month access to GOMO 5G plan and I can now see '5G' on the top right side of my same phone.

Using ZYM now, but currently all the telcos are offering similar plans. These plans usually have few GB of roaming. Usually when I am travelling longer, will use AirSim.

How is ZYM in your opinion? Network, speed, etc? Thinking of porting over. Thanks.

I am also using ZYM, they are using Sintgtel’s network so it’s quite reliable. So far so good for the price of $10.10/month, plus 3gb of roaming data to a few asian countries.

Sounds good then! I'll take a look at their website, thanks.

This is a recent review on the various mnvos, on prices. One of the mnvos has been left out though, Vivifi.

Thank you, I came across that link a few days ago when researching. For those who needs advice and comparison the HWZ article did a good job IMHO.

I went with ZYM Mobile, reception, network stability, speed are all good in east area, Tampines, for $7.77 per month am happy with it! Thanks to all who shared their experience on ZYM as well.
