All our knowledge is about creating vaccines so our immunity system learns to recognize and defends against the virus/bacteria. HIV mutation rate is so high that we can't create a proper defence plan, and it invades the T-cell (which is your soldiers).
egal
is the cure really that elusive
keyboard
All about who's putting money into the research - which results isn't guaranteed. Quite a number of cures are a product of something that went wrong - discovery when someone forgot something and figured maybe this can do something else. As of today, with early detection and pills, it's as good as a cure you can get. I'm sure priorities are put into things like immunotherapy to cure cancer which we haven't found a "cure" for and that kills lots of people per year (Stage 1 trials). Even mRNA (that was eventually used for covid vaccines) had difficulty getting sponsors when it was being developed. Remember the ALS challenge a few years back - the ice bucket challenge that raised money to do research on what possible genes are causing it. No cure but they found certain genes that mutate and am trying to find ways to delay it. Or Alzheimer research found that it's years of brain degradation prior to showing first signs of symptoms. If large parts of the human workforce is put into STEM, we would have progressed much faster as a society and perhaps we are the aliens visiting other planets already. egal
perhaps they are just not much drive or demand to find the real cure
