what did we learn from covid?

Recommended Posts

If life still goes on as per usual when things are much simpler during covid, why are we still overcomplicating our lives after covid?

All these complexities are man-caused, and not because of the environment.

It is always easy to make things complicated, the hardest part is to make things simple.

I guess this is what thing we have not learnt from the pandemic and never will.

I know some people still don’t know how to cover their mouths when they cough, that’s for sure ;)

I fully agree with this. Everytime the person cough on MRT, I will turn and stare at them. If foreigners - then fine, maybe they came to Singapore after COVID-19 (think 2 years contracts), but for those that were 30s / working adults, really no excuse.
I'm not even referring to aunties / uncles / old people, but can we as mature adults act as if we were in Singapore as an adult during COVID-19?

Thanks OP for starting this topic.

Absolutely agreed.

Many Singaporean have not learned from (SARS to) COVID, once I was in a Q at a food centre, a man of his late 40s was behind me in the Q, he was standing so close that I could feel his breathing, I turned around to signal him to keep a distance, he ignored.

Then out a sudden he sneezed and I could feel some droplets landed on the back of my neck, I told him that he should keep a distance and covers his mouth, he raised his voice and said that the Covid is over and authorities have never require people to cover their mouth for coughing and sneezing.

on social manners in public, our fellow citizens are quick to criticise foreigners for their bad behaviours, frankly speaking many of locals are equally uncivil.

Hygiene standards are actually pretty abysmal here. And I think it’s wild that someone would say the “authorities don’t require covering mouths” instead of using common sense.

I often joke with friends that Covid clearly didn’t do a good enough job in eliminating the stupids.
