cock brand
When I'm launching Internet Explorer, I look at the Task Manager, the CPU usage can surge from 5% to 100% instantly. Is this normal? The Task manager / Processes shows : System Idle Process shows 98 under CPU, any relevance? IkuTube
01. Did you recently run windows update? What OS are you using?02. Personally, I disable teatimer. Click here for more info on teatimer - http://exe.paretologic.com/detail.php/teatimer03. Try disabling teatime [msconfig] and see if you still face the same problem.04. Launch IE and check on your add-ons. Disable those that are 'strange' to you.05. It is normal when the 'brain' is doing nothing for System Idle Process to run at 99%. This shows the percentage of CPU available for use.06. Run spybot. oralb
another possible could be Norton. It was reported that sometimes Norton hangs and hogged system.Esp if you activate real time scanning, that meant there will be 2 scanner - Spybot and Norton.Try disabling them ONE at a time, and see whether the system resources been release. No easy way, have to trial and error... fatguy
maybe u can try firefox instead of IE... get a fren and d/l and you can just install it....another solution is a program that enables you to free up memory, and remove unwanted start up applications. I'm am current using UniBlue's Speed up my PC to do that.If this is a recent problem, you can try to do a system restore to back track your settings to an earlier set up that works. I had just uninstalled SpyBot - search & Destroy and do not encounter PC hang anymore, so I guess this must be the problem3. Do no know how to disable just the teatimer.4. Yes but cant see any thing strange thereSome says that when Norton anti-virus is running, you shd not run also spybot - true?Is Spybot effective for its purpose without Teatimer running? If not, I would like to run Spybot also but as suggested, without Teatimer. can please shoe me how to with simple instructions? Thanks. You should not run anti-spyware program together with an anti-virus. This will result in massive hog of resources and your system will slow down during the process. Imagine both programs are trying to access the same thing at the same time.02. Spybot is an effective and popular [highly recommended] anti-spyware. Yes, you can install it without the teatimer. To disable teatimer.exe:A. Should you are re-installing the software, disable it during installation.B. In an installed Spybot with teatimer.exe, - Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > Resident- Uncheck (if already checked) 'Resident "TeaTimer (Protection of over-all system settings) active.C. Go to Run > type "msconfig" (without quotes)- In the System Configuration Utility, click on Startup- Uncheck (if already checked) teatimer.exe- Reboot system(While you are at Startup, you may want to disable many more startup items - provided you are familiar with them) Quote Click Here To Visit My Blog @ "The Blessed Life" *Let me live my life to be an instrument of 'Love', in how I speak and in how I see others* - May there be Love and Peace beyond all understanding -
cock brand
Thanks IkuTube,I uninstalled Spybot and tried, no more hanging whatsoever.Reinstalled Spybot again and disabled TeaTimer accordingly.Same problem again as before. Now, with Spybot uninstalled again.Like you had mentioned, Im having Spybot and Norton running simultaneously when launching IE, despite having TeaTimer disabled. Is there a manual disable mode for Spybot, like Norton anti-virus, that we can disable manually at will when needed.Cant find this mode.Or I should disable Norton instead when launching IE and enable afterwards.Regards
oralb
You can do so without real time scanning, just look for the option to disable real time scanning at start up.So you can scan when you wanted manually.
