Any gay friendly laptop repair shop? I think i might need to have the motherboard replaced

If the hard disk can be extracted, u can pull out the hard disk yourself (should always buy laptop where there is opening to pull out memory disk. More risky if you have to personally dismantle laptop casing. Then just bring to usual sim lim square shop to have them make repairs - and, say, install a new hard disk too. When tested and ready, add on the transfer of data but be there when they do it, to ensure no copies are made.

That's one way to avoid any embarrassing exposes...

I need help to fix my laptop.  Can't turn on my laptop. :(

For a start, have you tried testing to see if it's problem with cables/wires and not laptop itself? i.e. the power cable can break down too, and sometimes solution is simply: to change fuse in power plug, or go sim lim buy a new adapter...

My computer's ram(?) seems to always die out and I can't figure out why (computer blacks out/hangs/restarts automatically sometimes when I start a game). I've had it sent to the repair shop twice already. My front usb ports are all dead too.

I wonder if the PC repair guys at the shops have the tools to test/check component/circuit board failure. If the problem is obvious (dead screen, sparks, smoke etc) then easier to find a replacement and plug it in. Those in-reproducible issues could be CPU overheat, fan spoil, RAM spoil or resistor fail etc quite hard to have parts at home to easily swap out for testing.

Is it a desktop ? When I had similar problems, it is always the battery or the power supply. Try replacing them in turn.

Usually proper Service centers has all the equipment required, especially the oven and extractor ... most of the time we cook the parts and the problem goes away .... otherwise its part failure ...

not surprised ... have you check the compatibility of all the parts? Not to mention that some MB goes along well with certain RAM manufacturers and not all ... you gotta check your spec

No clue actually. I mean, if I send my computer for repairs I'd trust that they know what they're doing.

Are there any benefits to getting PC servicing from a gay friendly shop or a gay repairman?

The only remote benefits I can think of is not worrying if the person stumbles across your porn, will understand the PC needs of a gay man, and/or perhaps you can pay back the person in kind.

I just need to find a PC parts recycle shop as I want to dispose of my old PC nonetheless.

It's only the hard disk you need to dispose off, correct?  Just pull it out and bury it in a pot of plant or something la. No need repairman...unless you plan to seduce one :rolleyes:

More like the other way round. Testing the computer after it has been repaired, and finding your ears getting licked, chest/nipples fondled or thighs getting stroked by no one else other than the repairman himself. :D

Sony vaio hard drive crashed once and repaired (changed to SDD) it at Sim Lim but when I got it back, the Vaio system wasnt fully functional (cant use 2nd function on keyboard/ bluetooth/ assist, etc.).

Went to sony service center, counter guy said will charge $60 but cant confirm if will work since hard drive is not original and if cant then will change hard drive which is additional $120+.

I dont have the installation cd for vaio VPCEH27FG model and not completely sure on how to go about this. Is someone able to help or advise on what to do?

The guy who changed LCD didnt know how to patch it up; any SONY VAIO personnels?

can just download sony files?https://www.sony-asia.com/electronics/support/laptop-pc-vpc-series/vpceh27fg?downloads-num=125

or does someone have installation cd?

@MonstaInYoMind

Try locating the Device Manager (basically hardware need software to work, not just the operating system). Find those with the Exclamation Mark and see if Windows Update can help you locate the driver. If it can't, then you need to note what the device that is requiring the software. Then find on the Sony page and install them for the hardware to resume working.

If it's just bluetooth, then download and install the bluetooth file and follow the instructions. If it's the keyboard mapping, a bit hard to know (manufacturer tend to be cryptic so they earn your service fee) which is the right file. All the original "recovery" files are at the bottom in year 2011. A google search seem to point to keyboard FN is under the SFEP and Notebook Utilities Drivers.

Worst come to worst, just download and install all the Original drivers and applications listed on the sony webpage. Though this adds a lot of junk and outdated files to your HDD, might slow your laptop too.

If you want to DIY, just order the whole keyboard online (check youtube videos to see if you want to DIY first) or, check price, go nearby computer shop see how much they charge to replace the keyboard. The key is usually comprised of the black button on top layer, some white plastic spring mechanism in the middle, then the tactile board below that transmit the signal. If you want, just pull out the black and white button/spring and see if using finger to press on the board itself if the key still works. If it does, it is still "usable" and see if the plastic spring can be fixed yourself (sometimes they collapse, just need to set back to the right angle) or bring to repair shop to see if they sell that plastic spring.

need IT Gaypert advise;

existing HDD 500GB with a lot of xxx

now i want upgrade to 1TB HDD and also install Microsoft office.

please PM me.

Juz buy an external hdd. Easier then changing the laptop HDD. Plus it's safer for your precious videos in the long run.

for MS office.... u can get an older version on eBay for less then $20. It's not illegal since u are buying the licence... But the person u are buying it from may not have uninstalled the software. But since eBay keeps good transaction records, u should be safe.

hello,  anyone here knows any gay friendly store or peeps to fix external harddisk? mostly for data recovery. thanks! :)

Need to determine whether the HDD still can be detected by a PC or not ?  Can, logical issue. High chance that the lost files can be recovered. Minimal cost involved.

Else, dead HDD, can only do recovery inside clean room environment. Very costly if this option. You need to weight the value of the data that you want to recover.

Hope this advise helps. ^_^
