tried it recently, the interface and access were miles ahead of Microsoft previous attempts.

However it is no longer about phone, it is about the apps. It would be interesting to see MS catch up on Apple and Android on the apps aspect

i also jus bought samsung omnia window 7 and has been using it for the past 2 wks. the phone is quite simple and easy to use.

but i find that it's too sensitive on the touch screen. sms side, it dont have the function to allow us to copy and paste and selecting a group of text at the same time.

this are some disadvantages i find that not convenient for me.

not sure about LG and HTC on the window 7 phone

Yup all WP7 phones do not have copy n paste as of now but has been confirmed in a future update just like the first iPhone doesn't have it but was later added as a new feature. All in all, i really like the build n feel of the phone and the Windows Phone 7 software is great (no hangups). A few of my frens are excited enough to wanna get the same phone too.

Yes, the Copy and Paste will come in early 2011. Some news mention that it will come in matter of weeks.. According to Bing Visual Search, the number of Apps are growing fast, few days ago it's still far below 2000, now it has reached 2025. I will get one when I can renew contract next year. Hope HTC comes out with one similar to or more than HTC Desire HD or Desire Z. That will be awesome..

no wonder cant copy n paste. but i still find the stand-by on & off button at the side of top right corner very irritating as whenever i holding my phone or playing games or sms, i may accidentally press on the button.

Think of it again, it is lucky that i never buy iphone 4 as now it is so common that majority of the people, even most of my friends are using iphone 4. That is why i want to get something that is different from them.

exactly!!! i was one of the few who bought the iPod touch on its first day in sg (pre-ordered it) a few years ago. Was thinking of getting the iPhone when it arrives but by the time my contract is up so many ppl has it. In fact now if u board a train anywhere ... u could at least see 5 iPhone users all around. Tats y need something different. :)

It would be funny NOT to choose iPhone becoz others are using it? Unless you perceived your phone as fashion statement and that it should be different from what others are using.

to me iPhone bring about a change in how we use the phone, we are no longer bonded by the physical phone which is nothing but a container of the apps. It is what the apps that's important

I am not a iphone or Apple super fan, if one day W7 or Android provides that level of ease and number of apps to use, I will switch over

You should try out Android phone first before you declare that Android does not provide "that" level of ease. Many applications like Swype, nice widget, deep customization like HTC Sense, etc, really make iPhone looks dumb and outdated. 100K vs 200K apps does not really matter, as most user will only install 100-200 max. Yes, it's time to switch over..

WP7 UI looks new and shiny, it will be my next phone if Microsoft can provide a credible update by next quarter..

Yep i tried both Android n iOS. Actually my fyp is based on a mobile phone OS and I got to research to which platform is better. Comparing both I guess Android UI is much better. HTC has made wonderful UI adjustments with the HTC Sense and if u do not like the stock UI ... u can easily install Launcher PRO.

Too bad I have the xbox and Windows live account which has all my contacts. Hence switching to WP7 is a no brainer for me. Before this I was using the HD2 hacked with Android with HTC Sense. HD2 ... best phone imo! Cos its using the older Windows Mobile 6.5 which gives 1 the ability to install Android too. Its like buying 2 phones for 1 price.

hey boyvin,

its actually quite simple but u hav to be abit brave cos there is a chance to brick the HD2 if u flash it with the wrong ROMs. But rest assured that if u successfully do it, u can re-flash it back to the original HD2 Windows Mobile software so this means tat you r not out of warranty if u r able to re-flash it back.

First up, u need to flash the SPL (firmware) to HSPL3. This sort of enables u to flash the HD2 with any ROM (OS) other than the original ROM by HTC.

Once u flash it to HSPL3, choose and flash a ROM tat supports Android such as Chucky ROM or VBM ROM, into the HD2 essentially replacing the original OS. Some ROMs doesnt play nice with Android.

Lastly, you need to get the Android package. There is no flashing here. Just unzip the package into the SD card and launch Android from the OS.

So total, u need to dld 3 different files/packages. PM me if u need more help ok.
