fenghou
Ridiculous and sad. indeed upsettinghow would one like it if he/she is taught and told that he's abnormal and a runt even by his parents?just like to quote the youtube comment i readJust in case anyone's unaware, George Rekers, who conducted this "research" is the same George Rekers who was caught not to long ago with a rent boy half his age whilst vacationing whom he claimed had been hired to "help him with his luggage."I hope more people, especially those from the straight and homophobic community can watch this video
Guest inotstupid
george rekers is a (homophobic) closet case himself. he should pay for destroying a person's life like that. sucker :swear:
Guest Black_Hat
It is not ok..it is simply not ok...Why did his parents in the first place, allowed him to undergo this "therapy"? I wish theres a time machine where I can go back in time, save this little boy from that hellish experience and bring him to a much better place where he will be accepted and loved for who he is. Guest Felix
Such therapy may perhaps work for learned homosexual behaviour, but not for someone who is born a homosexual.

Guest SuperAnnoyed
Was working overseas and saw Part II on CNN. Thanks for posting Part I and am looking forward to Part III tonight.Similarly, I grew up my entire life in guilt and my parents also treated me EXACTLY the same way when I was young. For a great part of my life I had to act tough, enrol in boy's schools, fight with other boys, play soccer and basketball, bring girls home, visit KTVs, just to act so-called macho to win that pathetic acknowledgement from my straight buddies and love from my parents. I was so unhappy with all the internal struggle. As a matter of fact, I even got married for a good 10 years. Ending the marriage recently, I still feel guilty and shamed when dating and looking at other guys. The more annoying thing is that the so-called doctor whom we trust as so-called experts, abused his authority and power and imposed his struggle and pain onto younger boys morphed under the name of "Science" and "published papers". Treating them as mere experimental subjects. Only to find out many years later on his crusade to impose straightness on others that he himself, is gay.I hope he can sleep well at night. Guest Guest
That idiot had the tenacity to say "That's just too bad". This shows how much he cares about lives of others. He doesn't look manly either.
waterballoon
This is depressing... I can only say that we're very lucky to be... free from such close-minded people to seek a "cure" or a "change".   "The two of us are living in the same era, believing in the same future Yesterday’s tears and today’s smiles will stay true We’ve experienced the same pain, we’ve gathered the same kindness And we’ll turn them into the strength to live on tomorrow"   progress - ayumi hamasaki

bigis4me
I saw both stories and it really make me feel so sad and disturb that how some parents who are so ignorant in the past as to what to do and worst are the scientist who want to make a name for themselves and use real people for their experiments and assume their work is all right and nobody is hurt. I pesonally think if we are born gay nothing will change that but how obvious gay we are is up to us in most times. Aside from transgenders , the rest of us can decide what type of gay we want to be as this is from experience.

Atrapada
I really feel for the 1st boy and his family. But I feel though it did lead to a tragic outcome, his life that he lived was not in vain. His death serves as a warning a reminder the potential danger of trying to change who and what we truly are. briax
Hi guys,I am hoping to find out how many people have went through any form of "Sexual orientation change" therapies in Singapore. Whether it is faith based or non faith based. If you know of anyone or you have gone through it yourself, please do me a favour by dropping me an email at bryan@oogachaga.com. At the present moment, I am thinking of getting some information on how prevail is this problem in Singapore and will think of how to educate people, especially parents and other social services professionals on these therapies. thank you,BryanCentre Manager,Oogachaga Facebook.com/Bryan Choong
