I think what the PAP should do now are :

1. Limit the entry of PMETs and keep these jobs for Singaporeans ; make it tighter and more difficult for companies who want to hire foreign PMETs and they must have proper justifications before hiring any foreign PMETs. Official retirement age of locals keep at an optional age of 65 and foreigners at 50, hence foreigners including the PRs hv to return to their motherland if they don't want to become a citizen.

2. Loosen up the work permits of those jobs which locals shun and this would relieve the shortages of manpower faced by the small and medium size companies.

3. All Govt jobs should be reserved for local Singaporeans only , none should be given to PRs or those on work permits .

4. HDB flats be it resale or direct purchase could only be owed by Singaporeans , strictly no to PRs whether they are married couples or not . PRs could only rent HDBs.

5. Give heavy subsidies or free delivery fees for mothers delivering babies at lower class hospital wards.

6. All primary and secondary school education should be free for Singaporeans.

7. Daily essentials like rice, salt, sugars , flour, milk should be heavily subsidized by those who show a pink NRIC and bought at NTUC.

8. Last but not least, legalize gay marriages in Sg ;) , the rights should be the same as straight people.

An excerpt:

White Paper: We’re paying the price for letting PAP dominate Parliament

PostDateIcon.png?9d7bd4 February 17th, 2013 | PostAuthorIcon.png?9d7bd4 Author: Contributions

A PAP-dominated Singapore Parliament

From an economic perspective, the PAP and supporters are arguing that the current rate of shrinking population will sink Singapore. In my opinion, the government is trying to wash down its decades of mistakes in policies that is bearing wrath on the people.

It is a facade to think that Singapore is wealthy and developed. A country is “wealthy” only if the majority of people are contented with living costs and conditions, and feel optimistic about theirs and children’s future. In Singapore, the vast majority are actually ‘poor’. Which country in the world (maybe except Hong Kong) has its majority people serving hundreds of thousands of $ loan for a very basic housing and car?

People are illusional to think that they have invested their money wisely. However, they don’t think or realize their position when a hard crises occurs. Look at the people in Spain and Greece right now. This can happen to Singapore someday and what reserves or plans the PAP has for protecting people from crises?

Coming back to the population issue, how can students studying in a highly stressful living conditions flourish? Yes, a minority can still make it, but how about the majority? The education system is already flawed, that is why the government is always claiming Singaporeans lack certain skills.

So, if Singaporeans pro-create and make much more babies to replace the falling birth rates, is there a guarantee that their children will be well off in the future? Will the PAP still insist that Singaporeans lack certain skills and continue to bring people, at least at the lower end jobs?

Having said all these, what is the solution? Singaporeans are paying the price for not allowing opposition voices to come to parliament since independence. Their over reliance and faith in the PAP is haunting them for their generations very existence. Many people are hoping for 2016, but I think it is too late. Nevertheless, the younger generations have to carry the burden their parents have invoked on them unknowingly.

1. Even in PMEts job like telemarketer or customer service, even bank tellers, there is a huge lack of manpower. So how? I think can tighten abit.

2. Agree. But most singaporeans are angry with uncouth foreigners on the roads, and these are usually work permit, not with PMETs. Will this make the social problem worst? Most smelly bangla n chinaman after a hard day of work going home in the bus?

3. I think should tighten, but should not totally limit.

4. PRs currently can only buy from resale. I think it might help them to settle down.

5. What if these mothers that stay at lower class hospital ward are super rich? Also if lower income mothers that have savings but want abit of higher class ward? Currently ALL Singaporeans have subsidies already. Delivery have many different types like Caesarean, and some are more premium then others.

6. Already free.

7. Then howabout a rich towkay running a chicken rice stall, should they be subsidized? What if a PR or a foreigner ask his friend to help him buy?

8. mixed views.. some say gay cannot even keep their relationship together, change bf like change clothes... some say that it doesnt require marriage to prove love. I am for gay marriages though.

You want change, you make the change. Most of them expect garment to change for them. Why don't you change yourself ? For example, if you know that that food stall is operated by Ft, can you stop buying from that stall. If the business is bad, the Ft will go home. Can you request for singaporean tutor instead of FT tutor ? In court mall, can you demand for singaporean service man instead of Pinoy service man ? Can you sell your newspaper to Singaporean collector instead of PRC collector ?

These simple actions can make a great change !!!.

I can see your points n feel your feeling. I think a significant no of the populace has finally woken up from political slumber. It might seems abit late for those who are aware long ago but don't give up hope. Where there is life there will be hope. Don't worry too much stay happy bro. 2016 yes! ^_^

Ya la, true true. We can and we should do like what u say as far as possible. But there are also instances where we bo pian, eg, like if u have problem with connection, then u call singtel to complain or u visit HELLO shop and u have to deal with their pinoy customer, buay tahan their accent. We cannot say we don't patronise singtel and go to star huh because there are only 3 in Sg, and i think starhub and m1 also use pinoy customer service officers.

In california gym too, aiyo, the pinoy instructors come and befriend u and try to get u to sign up for their coaching. But i already sign up lifetime membership,

But if a food stall is owned by a foreigner, like what u say, i boycott! No problem. Old newspapers or cardboards, i sell to local ah cheks and avoid foreigners.

Does anyone knows of any CSI teams? I was thinking of capturing the screen shots of how he belittles Nightingale and other members about other people's networth lower than his, and him mocking others having no money and low education, and his business and his district 11 residence, and his swimming pool etc.... I am sure the CSI people will be very curious to hack and find out his IP address and uncover more about his identity, his networth and his swimming pool etc.

We have achieved No. 1 in many areas. And I'm proud of that. Now some people said we don't need to be No. 1. It sounds pretty much that we should relax and let's slide backward. And let other countries to take over us. All kindergarten kids know 0, 1, 2, ... And 0 = none. If go backward from 1 is 0. When you get '0' you are none, nothing and worthless I.e you are in shit. Any civilization has only 1 way to go. That's to progress forward and move from 1 to 2, 3, 4. And 2, 3 and 4 are the sums of many many 1.

Yes Kiasu. And Kiasu is a Singapore culture.

Kiasu culture is borne of the heart, a change of heart will curb it. Now more people just want to live in a more caring and slow paced world. Listen to what the heart is telling us. ^_^

Yes Kiasu. And Kiasu is a Singapore culture.

Kiasu is the PAP culture wanting to be number in everything at all cost. PAP is not Singapore, Singapore is not PAP.

Number 1 does not necessarily mean number 1 richest in the world, Mr Moneyface.

Get that right.

This issue (about foreigners receiving Scholarships) has been debated. Gov't turn a deaf ear on this. No answer given. Yet, NUS/NTU/SMU/SUDT still continue giving free scholarships to foreigners. WTF?!

NUS/NTU/SMU/SUDT wants to maintain their world class number 1 standard, therefore they cannot accept sub-standard local 'A' level or Polytechnic graduates.

LHL will always said 有竞争才有进步。良性的竞争是必须的 blah blah...same old speech. In fact, my friend's friend who wrote speech for LHL also very "siian". Because, there was nothing to write but to rewrite and restructure new sentences!

Somebody questioned BG TanCJ about scholarships awarded for foreigners in the facebook (two years ago), but TanCJ just anyhow answered. This question was raised in a bursary award presentation at a Chai Chee temple. Can't remember exact date.

I don't mind if it was a scholarship with a bond, but yes this is literally free money. Meanwhile my sister's education in Australia is AUD12,000 per semester. Sigh.

Good suggestion! :clap:I would like to add more.

1 Gov't must make foreign company pay monthly extra duty tax, monthly salary must be paid min $5K for 'S' Pass, monthly contribution to CPF must be 50% and etc.

3. All Govt jobs should be reserved for local Singaporeans only , none should be given to PRs or those on work permits .

3. Gov't should not commission these "tiong-kor-kiia" (中国仔) as SAF Officers. SAF doing this, it is really bloody hell! I knew many Singaporeans "chiong-suua-chiong-haii" ye nothing inreturn, yet these "tiong-kor-kiia" got into OCS so easily! WTF?

Commissioning SAF Officers must be reserved for local born Singaporeans. I wonder can Defence Minister NgEH wake up or not?!

4. HDB flats be it resale or direct purchase could only be owed by Singaporeans , strictly no to PRs whether they are married couples or not . PRs could only rent HDBs.

4. Gov't should made ang-moh draw lots and stay in their so-call poor people HDB. Gov't always want people be cohesive and welcome foreigners integrate into our culture. Them, we must and want to see ang-moh live in HDB. If Gov't not doing this, we can fault PAP mah.

6. All primary and secondary school education should be free for Singaporeans.

6i. Huge number of Mainlander Chinese, Pinoys, Burmese, Indian Nationals all holding pink IC liao. We must NOT give these people free education. Instead, school fees must be free for local born Singapore parents with local born kids.

6ii. NUS/NTU/SMU must prioritised Singapore Citizens to come in first. Too much foreign students in local universities. These universities are too afraid their famous name being washed down drain and cannot maintain number 1 world class university standard.

Current NUS/NTU/SMU has high number of foreign students’ enrolment rate. Scrap the Polytechnic Certificate-of-Merit holder admission scheme and welcome local born Polytechnic graduates to enter. Thousands of local Polytechnic and ‘A’ level graduates force/forced to go overseas because they are unable to enter local universities. When they graduated, many don't come back. These poor parents were so frustrated and fed-up with Gov’t.

By the way, tons of Mainlander Chinese swamping to Singapore for Master/PhD Degree courses (in NTU/NUS/SMU/SUDT), once graduated, they do not want to leave. They are dying to get PR and stay here permanently because they confidently knew they will be employed locally and somehow knew MOM wants these smart and brilliant people. So, ICA offer them free PR and Citizenships! Sadly, MOE HengSK, MOM TanCJ, MOH TeoCH still allow this to happen. There is no ending to it.

6iii Restrict foreigners entering NUS MBBS and LLB courses. Else if, let them study and leave immediately. Just like the Ghurkhas. FEI, Gurkhas born here, grow up, educate here, serve here, but they are forbidden to apply for PR and/or Citizenship.

6iv. No more free scholarships for foreigners. Wasting tax payer money! :angry2:

8. Last but not least, legalize gay marriages in Sg ;) , the rights should be the same as straight people.

8. PAP anti-gay marriage will forever be there. Wasting time to challenge gay issue in court. YongPH and ChanSK will not let loose on gay rights. Anybody welcome to orgainse pink dot with millions people everyday, Sundaresh will be happily sipping coffee looking for those who do defaming.

FEI, old man's son already a "kuu-niang" before his NS days (my ex-teacher who was his classmate told me). If he legalise gay marriage, he probably will "duui-sim-kguar". Even if old man lowered down 6ft deep one fine day, don't forget we still have Lau Goh. If gay marriage legalised, I am very sure old man will jump out from the 6ft deep soil covered wooden box to strangle the Chief Justice and Speaker of Parliament leh.

(FEI – For Everybody Info)

'Disturbing' to see so many foreigners at SAFRA clubhouse

safra_clubhouse_for_ns_men_or_foreigners-thumbnail.jpg

Are the SAFRA clubhouses meant for locals or foreigners wonders STOMPer pat, after seeing a number of foreigners enjoying the facilities at the Toa Payoh branch.

The STOMPer wrote:

"SAFRA clubhouse for NS men or foreigners?

"I brought my kids to the newly opened SAFRA Toa Payoh today. In fact, as I am writing this letter I am still at the kid's indoor playground.

"It is quite disturbing to see so many foreigners here in a clubhouse supposedly built using public funding for locals, especially national service men. Instead, foreigners are the ones enjoying the facility.

"The indoor playground has a number of Caucasians with their blonde hair babies enjoying a nice cooling Sunday afternoon in a newly built an air-conditioned kid's play facility.

"I can’t help but wonder, would these Caucasian children one day serve NS? Chances are, they will follow their parents back to their home country when their work stint here expires.

"There's also a high chance they will finish their schooling here, take up all the space and enjoy the facilities here. Just before they turn 18 for NS, they will renounce their PR and move to US or Europe for further studies.

"I went to the third floor and saw a group of Filipinas (see photo). At least 20 of them were enjoying bowling at the clubhouse. It makes no sense to me because I am not a SAFRA member (I don’t see why I need to pay to be a member anyway, because I did put in two-and-a-half years plus ICTs for this country – but that was before the government decided to give free one year free membership which won’t start until April 2013).

"So I am paying the same as the foreigners – Filipinos, Caucasians, whatever. SAFRA membership should be given free to all national service men. Why make us pay when the total membership fee is probably a small fraction of what it costs to build these places plus cost of maintenance.

"Why are foreigners allowed to enjoy these facilities at the same rate as most locals here?"

This issue is getting out of control. The supporters of the anti foreigners group in singapore looks to me like its behaving like a "it's my way is the only right path" situation. These people do not have the interest in what others has to say. It's very dangerous as public discussion and voices will be shut down once these people are in power.

Please wake up from your grave. You are OUT OF CONTROL. You mean only PRO foreigner is the right path? Do you and the rest like you have the interest in what others have to say? It is TOTALLY DANGEROUS as you guys will turn a deaf ear to all public discussion and voices if you people CONTINUE to be in power

"We want change but bo pian we need them " LBBL. If starhub and m1 use only pinoy customer service officers, can we complain their service until they replace with singaporean service officers ? If SAFRA open for FTs, can we complain it to the management ? If everyone complain the same thing, I believe that the management will do something. Why PRC people can do it and we cannot ? Are we united to solve the FTs problem ? Everyone is NATO and hope to see a hero. Can the opposition take some actions themselves like cut their own salary, educate the FWs, etc ? Need action, no more talking and facebook !!!

I know someone who complained to SingTel's management about their customer service centres being overrun by Filipinos, and their preferential treatment of Filipino customers. He hasn't received a satisfactory reply.

On another subject, someone mentioned somewhere about some SAF commanders and officials being foreigners from China and elsewhere. I am not sure if this is true, but if it is then we should be very concerned. If (and that's a big *IF*) say, Singapore were to go to war with China, whose side would these officials be on? I hope MINDEF has thought about the consequences and repercussions before they implemented the idea of hiring foreigners to fill these positions.
