Zerosum
Please please please, if you can afford, get a 4room HDB or 3room HDB. Reason being is for your financial security in old age. 3room HDB have 2 bedrooms - 1 master, 1 common. 4room & 5room HDB have 3 bedrooms (mostly) - 1 master & 2 common. Assuming that you (and possibly your bf) stays in the master, you got at least 1-2 more rooms to rent out. Most common rooms have asking prices of between S$500-S$700 depending on location, conditions & rules. Near MRT, Bus stop, not too far from coffeeshops & supermarket, availability of wifi and/or aircon, allow (light) cooking, not racist will get higher rental rates. If you are really desperate for money, 3room can stay up to 7 people and 4 room can stay up to 9 people. Minus your partner and yourself, thats 5 or 7 respectively. Add in double bunk beds (each bed around S$250) also can get up to S$1000 (2 double bunk bed - 4 person in common room) or S$1750 (2 double bunk bed - 4 persons in 1st common room & 3 persons in 2nd common room). In the early stages where there is no such need, can always use the rooms as entertainment rooms, mini-library depending on interests. Yes, very compact, serviceable, yet spacious and not crammed. Nicely designed. Friendly and DEREK88888

No big sofa just a long cusion sofa and no dinning table too.. to keep it simple.. thats it. from your previous bigger flat, u could adapt to this ? I guess the profits gained from selling the previous housing was too attractive bah? no doors, wah , a no for me(cos there are times , between a couple , they wish to be left alone and cry or do their own stuff, so it is good to have segregation, no matter what ) while walking nude is fun, w the doors it s still workable too... not quite support zerosum: ended up it is a zero sum game, why spent on a big rm flat, pay more for conservancy charges etc, lesser govt rebates, govt handout money based on your size of flats too sacrifice all freedom, might as well you and your bf (like what friendly did) stay in your flat, your bf get his own flat and rent that out- all the tenants could do what they wish to in that ...(provided your bf is a local and abv 35) I cannot even accept a very "confined" space, ie anything smaller than each pax 2bed rms, hence 2 person in the flat, must be at least a 4rm flat - some of us are in those eras, where many kids and siblings squeeze into a small flat....now as we progressed, lesser in the family, I wanted more space (knowing this is sg, land are scarce)I applaud all of u who could accept a pax less than 1.5 bedrm, ie 2 pax less than 3 bedrm(even if u alone, rent out to another couple your 3 rm flat ie (3 divide by 3) 1 pax 1 rm , I don't like the idea too) a flat is a cage, to many there are some in this circle, live alone in an condo - all by himself hor....... 21 hours ago, Zerosum said: Please please please, if you can afford, get a 4room HDB or 3room HDB. lovehandle
You will have to consider the Non-Citizen Quota for Subletting of Flat if any subtenant renting your flat is a non-Malaysian non-citizen (Singapore Permanent Resident or foreigner). The quota is to help maintain a good ethnic mix in HDB estates. Malaysians are not subject to this quota in view of their close cultural and historical similarities with Singaporeans. The quota is set at 8% at the neighbourhood level and 11% at the block level, and applicable if any subtenant renting the whole flat is a non-Malaysian non-citizen (Singapore Permanent Resident or foreigner) . If the quota is reached, only Singaporeans and Malaysians can rent a flat in that neighbourhood/ block. Note that this quota does not apply to the subletting of bedrooms. You may use our e-Service to check if your flat can be sublet to non-Malaysian non-citizens. The e-Service can also be accessed via the HDB Map Services. Maximum number of subtenants These are the maximum number of subtenants allowed in each flat: Flat Type Total Number of Subtenants 1-room and 2-room 4 3-room 6 4-room and bigger 9 DEREK88888
