  3. Thank you Morrison for singing praises about Hong Kong! Hong Kong is indeed a delightful place to be if you know your way around and for the uninitiated, it does appear as though Hong Kong is far better than Singapore. But I must ask you the following questions: 1. How many supermarkets have you visited in Singapore and have you done grocery shopping in any of Singapore's wet market? And did you go at the right time? 2. I have tried many restaurants in Hong Kong and I can say likewise no matter where you are..there are some really good ones and there are really bad ones too...and I don't give a damn about their snacks..fish balls in HK taste and feel like rubber (its just glutten without any fish meat at all! No way comparable to those we will find here in Singapore). I have patronized some of their famous restaurants with long queues serving good food with "nanyang flavour"...but all I can say is "army food is better". 3. Yes, Hong Kong men could be quite attractive and especially if you speak Cantonese, you will be swooned by their slick linguistic ability! However, we do not lack good looking men here too. Perhaps you have not met them. 4. On the surface if you're only there for a few days, everything does appear better but deep down they have their own problem and if you live there, you will understand better and then you'll appreciate what we have here in Singapore. 5. Hong Kong is haphazard! Take a look at Jordan ... you'll find residential housing within the same block and you might find your neighbour operating a hostel on your left and the one on your right a garment manufacturing unit. If you like that, good for you! 6. Yes, HK is definitely the city or country that never sleeps..but like what someone pointed out ..."Do we really need to party all the time?" And do we need all these hustle and bustle 24-hours-7-days? 7. Cost of living is so much higher in Hong Kong than in Singapore. A bowl of wanton noodles in HK would cost at least HKD 25 which roughly translates to about SGD 4 while we can still get it for SGD 2.00 here and it comes with char siew too! I'm not blindly defending Singapore but I believe everyone needs to look beyond what they see. There's always good and bad things and it is impossible to be the best...but if you feel you fit in better in Hong Kong...then you should seriously consider seeking employment in HK and living there for good. You'll then be living in your ideal country. I may have a home in Hong Kong too but I always feel my home is here in Singapore.
