A YouTube video about BL series being cancelled (here) came into my feed, and I was surprised to see "The On1y One" Season 2 was top in that list... (and it was announced some 3 months ago), and I was still 'eagerly waiting' for Season 2...

 

Definitely disappointed on this series' cancellation...   😭😭😭

 

 

 

Searched and saw this post from Facebook that stated:

 

BREAKING: 'The On1y One' Director Confirms Season 2 Cancellation Due to Production Issues

 

The director of the Taiwanese BL series The On1y One has officially announced that Season 2 is canceled due to ongoing and additional production problems. In a heartfelt message, he expressed shock at the decision, revealing that communication with production company had ceased over time.

 

Here is his full statement:

"To all Mou Fans,

I am shocked and heard about the info with you guys at the same time. First of all, I don't work for this 'official company', but at the beginning, we still kept in touch and talked about Season 2 with promising words. But as time went by, they stopped contacting me, and I didn't know what was going on until now.

 

I am so sorry about this silly and ridiculous consequence. You know I love all Mou Fans, each of you. I tried my best to reply to your private messages as much as I could because you trust me so much, and I don't want to fail you. But I am just a director—they are a big company with capital, and money comes first.

 

Me and Youzwe are just romantics, in love with this story and these characters—nothing more.

 

It seems to be an end, but our love for Mou Mou—the only one—will remain. We've been through so much together, with laughter and tears. Stay on this road, and we will meet again, I know it.

 

Thank you all, Mou Fans. Love you always."

What impresses me the most in this video is the effort:  time, money,  dedicated to the makeup of the actors.  In the whole video, not ONE imperfection can be seen in the faces of the actors.  This is as real as characters in the Disney comic strips.

GMMTV has the resources, probably as much as Disney. :D

Yet, with all the "makeup transformation" of actors,  we compare our looks with theirs, and not being as "perfect" we may think that we are ugly...  Big mistake! 😄

I'm really enjoying it. Watching it as with any other fictional romance movie, as leisurely entertainment with good-looking guys in semi-historical backdrop :D
