it took me sometime to finish watching as initially i was wondering did i really find the right "bromance show" even though the theme on power harrassmt and work/job issues is a topic that is very close to my heart

Yes, i worked in jp firm (not one) but it is in Sg context (it is still very diff cos we are governed by sg laws, MOM etc)
if it is in jp, yes, it will be closer to what was portrayed in the movie! also dpending on the age of the MD/Boss (younger gen shd not be like that anymore)
- did u notice that in some porns, some bosses are sicko? (if not it s a reversed situation of employee f boss) , made staff stripped and then........

and the common terminology used currently in office setting (in Japan)   is 'Power harrassment"

of course, no doubt the movie dramatise by a lot more to make the show having more 戏剧张力

It is not uncommon that corporate has to kneel esp to apologise for really big matters (not so much of a simple typo, but if it is a simple mistake that cause life threatening loss or matters then they shd really kneel)
U guys may be wondering, why didnt the male lead quit in the very first place?
cos in jp dictionary - there is NO quitting or resignation, it is until to a very aggravated extent then 1 would talk abt resignation
U r expected to be "Life long" staff

(so when watching the show we have to understand their context)
they will torture til u leave or u die , instead of they firing u (of course there are also cases which firing must occur immed)
they tend to have open concept, so if u would to make one mistake, everyone can clearly hear your superior scolding u loudly (evn from his fish tank ie glass office)

 

the first 20sec of their trailer 2 just looked realistic enugh though it is dramatise! I believe u have watched or heard of good dramas like Doctor X (it is all about corp ladder climbing) and the latest Legal V (i rem the CEO./boss poured wine on a lady lawyer due to her failed mission) - all by my fav actress too! 
so it was really nothing new to me
but when i picked this up, i was wondering how does bromance play a part in such....and then the funnie part is it mislead us into thinking about Yuurei (Spirit/ghost) 

btw, most Jp drama/movies tend to add in laughter and jokes into very heavy topics /tragedy/hum bao shows to bring out meaning 
korean movies tend to be "Over the top" Fucking creative (Sometimes really overly天马行空) yet have deep meaningful parts even if it is a horror show or movies that talks abt goin thru the Hades

Even though the title "Hong Lou Red chamber" seemed to be implying the Xi Men Ding 's gay iconic bldg Hong Lou at taipei

For sure this show didnt portray the gay community well, drug scenes (mid part has another , worst still emphasize so many types of drugs) and sex ONLY : living a life of 醉生梦死
If such description is not matched , maybe cannot fully understand what the show is about (which is why when i often hear where to find translation/sub titles, it can never be translated well esp dramas that are of that era or words that is not used for current era) 
but the sex scenes on 1hr 7mins erm is ...erm....q hot (it is like filming gay porns) w erection

The opening sequence of the movie where there is a sweaty , sloppy , wet fuck scene where the drifter has sex with a sweet , bottom, , it is quite memorable,its a short sequence only but  the climax scene of grunting and coming and the straining of the breeding action is very well shot by the director.

 

Unfortunately , that scene is not between the two of them above .

 

There is a female third wheel thrown into the mix, its a Road trip movie after all, it needs to fit the genre,
