Instead of hearing from us, trial and error (products vary in effect because we have different conditions) and waste money on the products, you should see a skin specialist and get professional advice. The consultation and solution may appear more expensive but if you keep trying different products on your own, you may end up wasting more money.

One of my girl friends used SKII, in the end she developed rashes and had to see a dermatologist to get it fix, isn't that worse?

That will save you all th

Go national skin centre for a consultation.

Dear BW bros,

Do you go for facial ? I am looking for a place for facial. Realised my face no longer vibrant and radiant once you passed 40 years old ;)

Realised most of the facial salons are for women and have not seen any salon does facial for men .. does anyone know which salon does facial for men ?

Just dont want to go to the salon where they don't do facial for men. Any recommendation ?

And typically how much is each treatment, how long is the treatment and what do they do to the face ?

Tks in advance.

Urban Homme - Face and Body Studio For Men (self-censored cos GM don't like, I not working there) in Singapore seems like the place you will be enjoying facial treatments, I do not know the price but you can try looking at their site.

Some treatments that might be suitable for you:

using oats to wash face? been wanting to try that out though.

facial products doesn't really works when it comes to scarring.. think Laser works the best, but even so.. it is not really 100% smooth and there's side effects.

go make an appointment with National Skin care center? (well said to be the best/cheapest, as they handle many many more patients than Clinics. no comment on that.)

Take note as it is under cosmetic surgery, you cannot claim medisave (for Singaporean)

Your looks are important to business success and attracting people. It's unfortunate most human beings are superficial but that's the world we live in.

If you are going to do anything, you really need to only deal with professional medical staff. If you don't have the money then don't do anything because you are likely to make it worse.

I wonder if Thailand of South Korea have affordable services at private hospitals? I wonder if anyone on BW could recommend some specific medical tourism destinations?

I thought of going to Raffles Medical Hospital for laser surfacing too. Currently using Olay ProX exfoliating renewal cleanser twice daily plus sk2 men facial essence

Hmm. My understanding would be over washing and over exfoliation will rip off our skin's natural moisture causing more dryness. Resulting in fine lines

Wash 5-6 times per day is too many ba. I wash max twice per day.

Exfoliating cleanser used twice a day also too frequent.

I exfoliate once on alternate days

If face feels oily / looks shiny, light dab with tissue, not blotter

Works well for me so far. But again depends on individual skin type. Im combination/sensitive

Acid peel will remove the surface of your skin on the face which is true. But many encounter sensitive face after acid peel cos you have already removed the outer skin that protect your inner skin.

Thus a little bit of thing will irritate your skin.

The best solution is to go get an acid peel. The process is basically stripping away all the skin on your face. Recovery is about 3 to 4 weeks depending on how fast your skin regenerates. But the end result is baby smooth.

Laser effect is quite temporary. My friend went for laser to even out acne scars. After a few times, the scars are still there, no difference. I think the one that really makes a difference is the conventional dermabrasion where it involves bleeding. Laser is a bit gimmick gimmick.

Acid peel cause sensitivity only during the period where u use it, and must use sun block. Once u stop, the sensitivity is gone. I think anything above 20% cannot be sold off the shelve. Concentrations below 20% is quite slow in producing effects and u have to put up with the discomfort that is stretched over longer periods. 70% is effective, but only doctors can do it, unless u know where to buy it, unfortunately i dont know.

i was told to get good skin, u have to drink lots of plain water and to avoid sweet food.

for me, a regular facial wash (either with water or facial cleanser) is good enough. i believe exercising helps to improve the elasticity of the skin too. a bit of Vit D from the sun helps too, imho.

Wash your face with a cleanser daily, at least twice a day.

Apply toner (optional), facial essence and moisturizer after each wash.

Exfoliate your face twice a week.

Apply facial mask after each exfoliation.

Apply toner (optional), facial essence and moisturizer after that.

Have an early rest everyday (best time: 10pm - 2am rest)

Avoid alcohol, smoking and midnight oil.!

You need to understand you skin type. Choose a cleanser that is suitable for your skin type.

General rule of keeping you face clean:

1)Wash your face with a cleanser daily, twice a day. NOTE: Do not overwash your face. Overwashing it can lead redness and itchiness.

2)apply alcohol free toner

3)facial essence

4)moisturizer

To echo some of the poster's comment, these are some of the basic steps to keep your face clean.

Also, drink adequate water: this will help to ensure nice plump skin cells which protect the skin against excessive moisture loss. eat more fruits. Have an early rest.

Last but not least, do not get lazy when it comes to skin care. Good complexion don't just happen.

if you are talking about reducing acne scars, you can try dermal roller. it is a roller with needles that you use to roll on your face, causing your face to bleed. this in turn causes collagen to rise up to the skin to heal the self-induced injuries, which also helps to heal the scars overtime.

i tried it and it worked for me to a large extent. however, be prepared that your face will look red and people often mistaken that i put on make-up. but if you can ignore such comments and endure the pain and redness for about half a year, you will see some improvements to your face.

Finding my path to happiness...
