Should I go see the doctor? Seems pretty abnormal, although have been really stress and lazy (stop gym) recently.

Different people and body type gain weight differently. I suspect you are endomorph body type. Easily gain weight body body and lack of exercise.

Work out for a month and see if weigh goes down

It might be a medical condition that needs a doctor visit... Hopefully you're not that unlucky.

I think its due to lack of exercise, stress and bad diet (junk food). Time to review my lifestyle and hit the gym like before.

I noticed with every 10 years of age, your metabolic rate drops drastically, unless you have been doing something consistently to upkeep your bodily functions maintenance. Did you just passed some decades in age, plus or minus a couple of years?

dun be silly, you dun need to see a doctor.

i mean if its genuine health issues, you will know it better than anyone.

lack of exercise,

bad diet,

eating junk food,

eating late at night,

irregular meal times (eating very little in the day & suddenly eat alot at night)

high level of stress,

bad sleep or lack of sleep etc

will all make you gain weight very fast.

happen to me before. 1kg gain every week (same as your 10kg gain in 2 months).

you just have to fix your diet habits and start working out again.

Ask your doctor to do a test for your thyroid function.

That was what I thought too - thyroid problems.

You've probably been tucking into comfort food if you have been experiencing stress.

If you were going to the gym and then all of a sudden you have lost motivation because of lack of energy.

Sounds like you are under pressure and you have lost interest.

I gave up smoking and put on weight because I used food to compensate for the not smoking.

Hopefully, I'll get my head around it and start to shed some of the pounds I've put on.

I've already stopped the ice cream.

 Good luck!

If it is to be (lose weight).

It is up to me

2 months gained 10kg? What you do? If those skinny people can be like you then they happy. I always heard it is not a good sign if you lose weight fast over a short period, could have some health issue. But i seldom hear people gain lots of weight over  short period due to health issue?

It is not a bad idea to see a doctor to get some blood tests done.  Should be done at least once a year.  But in your country this costs $$.

So, what if you try a lifestyle change for a month or too, and see how this works out?

The principal factor in weight is HEALTHY DIET,  more than the exercise.

Exercise takes less force-of-will and it is easier to control, but it is not sufficient for weight loss.

Could you have been complacent with high calorie food over the holidays, like cakes, cookies, big celebrations with plenty of food?

At least you weight yourself periodically, so you could detect your weight gain.  If you want to be even smarter, have a thermometer at home

and get yourself a pressure measure cuff to measure your blood pressure periodically too.

As an Ectomorph, i do agree. I do eat a lot compare to my frens and colleagues. I even tried to take weight gainer powder bought from GNC mixed with full cream milk.. But after drinking daily, my body is still skinny especially my hands and legs... And many people still always told me i need to eat more eat more cause i am too slim as a guy!

I know this could sound unpleasant to those who wish to slim down badly. But this is really my struggles..

How i wish i can gain more weight easily...

I gain weight really easily, guess its both a blessing and curse. You just need to bulk up, eat double the portions and lift heavy weights. Should get bigger in about 3-4 months.

Could be genetic you are born to be skinny, no matter how much you eat might still not able to put on weight?! For this type of people, should go gym to gain some lean muscle to look much better.

Like you, I had the problem of not gaining weight most of my life, especially when very young.

I will never weight as much as I would like.  But this is not a problem anymore.

The problem WAS my desire to weight more than what my body wanted to weight.

This desire led me to exercise and lift weights to gain muscle.

So I became strong,  but still not as big as I would have liked.

Now I give thanks to the providence for having given me such a body.

Now in my later 70s I am still strong and healthy, and I still need to take care eating enough to avoid losing weight.

The people in my life who had nice big bodies are now overweight, weak, with little muscle and much fat, with all the chronic illnesses that come from that.

Don't try to violently force your body to get bigger by stuffing yourself.  Our digestive system is extremely important and delicate,  so much suffering exists when it does not function right. This idea that there is an equilibrium between "calories" taken in and "calories" expended in heat and mechanical work,  is A MYTH.   Otherwise it would be SO EASY to gain or lose weight, by having higher or lesser intake of "calories" than what are used.  This false theory ignores the fact that THE BODY decides HOW MUCH of the intake it absorbs,  the rest is simply pooped out.  BE HAPPY that your body does not want to become bigger.  As long as you are healthy and you can gain strength by exercising, everything is fine.  We are not raised to get bigger before being slaughtered to process our meat!

Look at what you eat. Did you eat more junk food or high carb food during this past 2 months? If you do than you need to use your will power to stop eating all those junk food or else your tummy and weight will keep continue to grow to reach very unhealthy stage.
