Retail workers, what's the saddest thing someone ever returned?

some years ago I was helping my sister with her shop selling baby products. There was this cheerful and likeable lady who popped in almost daily for 3 weeks, and my sister learnt that she was finally pregnant with her first child after trying for 7 years.

she suddenly disappeared for a month, then one day we saw her again carrying a big plastic bag of all the clothes and paraphernalia she purchased, and asked if she could return them because she had a miscarriage and the doctors advised her against trying for a baby because her life would be at risk. There were certain items like the breast-pumps and pacifiers that really couldn't be refunded, so she asked for my help to donate it away on behalf of her because she couldn't bear to do so herself.

TL;DR: a woman bought lots of baby stuff only to ask for a refund because she will never get to use them after a miscarriage.

Not sure if this consider a returned but once when i was working part-time at a fashion boutique during my school break, a cute guy probably around my age came to the store and bought a pair of jeans. He requested for alteration and on the alteration form he wrote "we should probably meet up after your work one day :)" underneath his name. Few days later i think should be his mom came to collect the pants and looked at me sternly without saying a word, handed me the carbon copy of the alternation form, picked up the stuff and left. I looked at the form and (i think) she struck off that sentence and added "do not even contact him. We are a holy family!" 😳

Sad to hear the news.  At least she tried.  Unfortunately, a friend of  mine was wrongly diagnosed by a junior doctor that she had rare womb cancer and advised her to take away the womb to avoid cancer spreading.  They made her sign documents of agreement before the operations..  After she has done so,  she went to another  hospital for follow up treatment and when asked by a senior doctor, they told her the earlier cancer wasn't serious to warrant womb to be taken away from her. She was sad that she can no longer conceive.  The junior doctor commited a terrrible sin for giving her wrong advices.   She could not have any recourse after that, as there was not proper channel for her to sue based on the documents she was made to signed.
